All they need is a dog park sort of place, like the Barkyard at Boxyard RTP, and it’ll have all its bases covered.
Oh I would love if there was more basketball played at that park. There used to be some good Sunday pickup played over there.
As for the negativity, you gotta expect that anytime something comes into a neighborhood. People don’t trust developers (and probably for good reason). They always pitch the utopian version of their plan and that rarely materializes. I think the pushback is good. Make sure those who live there express their concerns, make sure the developers know all of their concerns. At the end of the day, it’s zoned for this, so there’s nothing they can do. Its their mistake for moving so close to property zoned as such IMO. But i think holding developer’s feet to the fire isn’t bad as long as the entire project doesnt get canceled.
(sorry this response is so late, i’m just catching up on this thread)
Some more info on the Bond Bros location going into the Salvage Yard. I’ll be honest, I’m pretty excited for this.
What is NOCO short for? Northampton County? North of Courtland Drive?
No Company, apparently.
Anyone have any guess as to what the hell these things are going to be? (or are currently?)

Looks like trees in a courtyard with an open roof structure over them
It reminds me of the glass sided room with the wooden aging tanks (foeders) at Trophy. But yeah trees makes more sense. Even if the artist never learned how to draw trees.

Hah, my aunt is a landscape designer and I always loved looking at her hand-drafted plans, so I see a cookie next to a rectangle and automatically think “ah yes, a tree or shrub next to a building”
That’s where they keep the giant tribbles.
You’re correct:

This is Iron Works, the render I posted is from the Salvage Yard next door! Unless you’re just exemplifying that they’ve already done this, so likely they’ll be doing the same thing there! But ok - my first thought was trees, but then it seemed odd they’d put trees inside - but perhaps they plan for these trees to grow up and out, between the I-beams. Kinda cool if so! Otherwise they may just plan to keep em well trimmed so they don’t ever get “too” big
The rendered trees to the left along the road are a similar yellow color, so it makes sense that they are trees. I’d love for them to be something different and exciting though. ![]()
i guess not raleigh exactly but the new tennis center might coax more usta and utr tournaments bringing more people in from the surroungin area.
I think someone posted it a while back, I remember complaining about it being a copy-and-paste design from the Smoky Hollow office building
Survey crew was out there Monday. Although they were on the shoulder of Wake Forest Road so who knows what they were doing. I get the sense that this one has fallen into the same pit as the others
Hmmm it looks similar to past renderings (per @trueurbanist) but this does look updated IMO - I don’t ever remember there being anything on the corner where that garage currently sits, but now there’s a “Circa Lighting” store in its place on this render, which reflects to me that they might now be making plans for the property since it’s about-faced and closed/sold. I believe the last time we saw any renders for this project, that garage was still not sold, and therefore always featured in the renders as-is! Also, the apartment building behind the “tower” looks different than what I remember from past renders.
They have an image posted on the side of Wake Forest Rd. Your picture looks more recent and updated.

Glad to see a sidewalk in the renderings but still stops at the train tracks…….
