Let them know, I need some new shoes!
These came out looking fantastic. Nice 360-esqe view of most of the tower cranes too. Not living in Raleigh, these pics catch me off guard showing all the construction.
upcoming ASR-0019-2023 - - “three 3-story apt buildings” at 1002 Mill St.
Really hope they have some sort of pedestrian/ bike connection through to the East End Market site - that would also make connecting that site to the greenway easier (along with the 912 Hodges apartment buildings development and the new greenway bridge).
912 Hodges:
Is 912 Hodges moving along? The last I heard about it was 2021
For sure! I’m bummed we’re apparently not going to be getting those 30-40 story towers along Six Forks now though. Those would’ve filled that gap pretty nicely.
I can imagine that in five to ten years from now that midtown will become bigger than downtown.
Rezoning was approved September 2022.
That’s kind of what happened in Atlanta, but I am not buying it for Raleigh just yet. The lack of a grid in the midtown area will keep it a quasi-model and there’s really not any natural areas for it to expand in an urban model. On the other hand, downtown could feasibly expand to its east by gobbling up homes that exist on the grid. Do I think that’s happening in my lifetime? No. But it’s a lot easier to imagine it happening.
They have so much potential to have more hives and have room for solar panels
Their roof would be buzzing with productivity!
Looks like it already is. Open that image in a new tab and zoom in. Looks like there’s bees all over those things.
That’s exciting. I’m so happy that building (and all the associated cars) are going. Now, if we could just tackle the other side of the street…
Are they tearing it down? Thought I heard it was just being renovated.
Yea I think renovations, its on the left corner of this picture
While this topic is at the top of everyone’s minds, does anyone have any information on what is going into the Creative Acoustics building at the SW corner of Hodges and Atlantic?
Can’t seem to find anything but works been going on there for about 6 months and they have a large Barringer Construction sign outside. Seems like a relatively nice upfitting of an older building but wondering what for, can’t imagine it’s for CA.
This looks awesome. Though we desperately need to fix the intersection at Atlantic/E Whitaker Mill, and otherwise improve/add bike lanes on Atlantic. I foresee some very, very short and unnecessary car trips in this area otherwise.
