As of now (current surrounding development), the Transfer space is nicer but the Morgan location is better. There’s just more walkable access to it by more people. I’d love to see them expand into that church space next door. Ultimately, I’d love to see them connect somehow to Weaver Street Market. That would make for a terrific experience.
I too prefer Transfer’s atmosphere over Morgan St. In fact, I can’t remember the last time I was at MSFH.
The only times I’ve been to Transfer was by car, and that sort of defeats the whole point of it for me. MSFH is walkable for me, but Transfer is just too much of a stretch to make it a regular thing.
Glad to have both of these. Totally respect the walkability of MSFH for many and to each their own for choice, but if we’re talking about quality of Food at vendors within these Halls - Transfer wins for me and my travels. They crafted a great space and selected some primo food vendors and that doesn’t even really nod to Burial being on premise. Maybe the only hitch is the weirdo alcohol license thing that GLP referenced above…(well, that and the hole in the ground out back awaiting movement of the Sax Grocery concept…).
Hope to see more future Food Halls ( Iron Works and Kane’s InnOv district, anyone?) to offer additional ‘incubator’ spots around town for entrepreneurs putting their specialties out into the market.
Why meeting the crew and seeing you again! Closely, and I do mean closely, by that dobblebock I was “sipping.”
Good answer! Back Home yet?
I’m not questioning quality; I’m just saying that it’s not in my reasonable walk shed.
Have driven the downtown many times from the burbs, or ubered in,when wanting to do either spot…great variety and I 2nd the opinion that transfer had the better food and better vibe. Since we drive location doesn’t matter
I can drive you because I always drive there. Or you can hop on one of those super safe little scooters!
@pBeez says that @GucciLittlePenguin is a very safe driver.
You may be surprised. It was about 1.5m for me so less for you.
Haha @GucciLittlePenguin drove that day. I’m from NY and did most of my formative driving in Massachusetts. I terrify everyone from NC with my driving (and I’ve toned it down like 75% since moving here too…)
Actually I have heard about your driving. Post edited.
I can drive, but I live downtown so that I don’t have to do so. Thanks anyway for the offer.
As for the scooters, I think that I’d rather take a bike.
All this talk reminds me that I need to make it down to Transfer one Thursday night for pasta at Alimentari…
yup made it home yesterday. I got to enjoy ATL early rush hour traffic on the perimiter. What a treat!! And today, that deadly tornado passed about 2 miles from my home. Power was out 6 hours, but back on now. So an eventful couple days.
I don’t see no construction nor site prep. Def cruel April Fool’s joke.
3 floors, 15k sf, still on their listing. This is good! As it happens… I think I know Jason Queen? Who owns Monarch? I…had no idea I was talking to THAT Jason Queen. Could be an interesting source.
Don’t think it is an April Fool’s joke. Maybe some preleasing required to get it off the ground though. Saxapahaw is fixed per listing
