They want you to pay for this half decade old knowledge?

Can we pay with bite-me coin?

No one sharing the list tho…

I forgot to share pics with the community. Here’s Saint+Peace from the inside from last night’s Offline Premium sneak peek.

It’s not super clear here, but this is a rose-shaped ice cube. Nice touch!

Overall I like the place and I think it has a place and will do well, but I was disappointed that (at least for last night’s event) the premium $14 drinks were pre-made. I want to see someone laboring over my drink at $14 each, especially when most of the glass is an ice cube. We didn’t hookah but will partake next time. There also currently isn’t furniture on the front patio but they will have some soon.

It’s going to be a nightclub. More revenue potential than a restaurant.

This might be old news, but it’s new news to me so I thought I’d share: Saw a post from the Downtown Raleigh Alliance on social media stating The Roast Grill is back open as of last week along with one I hadn’t heard of - Sweet Tea and Cornbread at the history museum - and also highlighted was C. Grace and their live music.

It’s nice to continue to see familiar favorites coming back as well as all the new places coming soon-ish.

I’m happy about Roast Grill being open again, but mostly excited that C.Grace is reopened. One of my favorite bar/lounge experiences.

That’s awesome about C.Grace for sure. Thanks @GucciLittlePenguin

Saw the GYM Taco people tusking a tour of the old Zambero space at One Glenwood today.

GYM Taco is also looking to collaborate with the best rotisserie chicken restaurant in Raleigh, this should be obvious, on a Pizza concept. It’s very preliminary now, but they are looking at a previous location where an old Raleigh breakfast restaurant sat before closing a couple years ago.

Maybe they are looking at this location too!

The Courtney’s location?

Hope something like that works. We only got to try Zambero one time before the shutdown. We got it to go and took it into Dram and Draught. Perfect.

I was thinking the same thing. I guess I’m down to open a Spanish tapas bar two years if they do that.

Looks like 2 new restaurants are coming to the old Remedy Diner space. One will be a taco restaurant called Soul Taco out of Richmond (which was featured on Diner’s, Drive-Ins and Dive) and another called “JewFro” which is exactly the way you’d imagine, and I’m really looking forward to trying.

For Owens, a Black Southerner, and Augenbaum, a Jewish chef, JewFro is a chance to explore the commonalities and corollaries between various Jewish and African cuisines and how two very different cultures can come together in an unexpectedly harmonious way. Together with business partner Nar Hovnanian, an entrepreneur with Armenian and Middle Eastern roots whose culture includes very similar food, Owens and Augenbaum designed the new restaurant concept to be not just palate-pleasing—but a conversation-starter.

Interesting breakdown of cities and percent use of office, retail, residential, and hotels. TLDR, downtown Raleigh has 47% office space.

Great mix! Don’t want too many eggs in 1 basket!

We gotta get that hotel score up!

I wonder if Raleigh’s office percentage includes the government offices, or if that is included in the other column?
I wish that Miami was included. I think that you’d see a huge residential outlier like Honolulu is for retail and Austin is for hotels.

I always find it funny that they have to add NC after Charlotte and Raleigh. Are there other larger cities with the same name? Lol

No, they assume that people don’t know where they are when that hasn’t been the case in at least 5 years. I travel frequently and nearly everyone I’ve told that I live in Raleigh knew of people from here or Charlotte. ABC News anchors don’t say NC in the end anymore, or at least they haven’t recently. Also, VA and SC stations don’t add NC, so I think this trend is dying.
