Every high rise should be like the mega-blocks from Judge Dredd or the Kowloon walled city.

Spitefully giving urbanists what they want as retribution for making it legal to run a business out of a house. Truly, incredible work.

it depemds on the nimby complaint…be fair. on wexford drive in the 70s govt housing was put at the end of our quiet dead end st. crime, litter and traffic did increase to people who liked the quiet st that kids played and sledded on. on a more modern note when i lived on larkdale court, the harris teeter behind us could not have trucks make deliveries before or after a certain hour due to the noise it made. some concerns and so called nimby makes sense.

I know barry from Facebook he is a hardcore Nimby and Far,Far and I mean extremely far left leaning thinker, basically he’s a socialist and hates Capitalism and he strongly against the current council except for his man crush David Cox.

Not quite DTR, but a rising tide lifts all boats. Saltbox seafood over in Durham won best chef in the southeast James Beard award.

Review of Lonerider OKI.
We drove to the far west of the island to drink & eat here for my early birthday.

Fantasric views, maybe the best on the island since they are on the sound/waterway. (Southport is mainland) Beer was awesome, food was solid but limited menue as they are still getting open. Eat inside or out. $6 beers are a deal by city standards. Food was $$, but where isnt these days. All in all, if y’all are in the OKI or Holden Beach area, this is worthy of your time.

321 Coffee opening delayed by supply and staffing problems. No surprise I guess.

Good for them - I’m sure they’ll do well on business lunches out there.

That headline’s off, though - it’s on the Durham County side of the line.

Raleigh is a megacity. The whole Triangle is actually just Raleigh now.

We just need better pedestrian and transit connections between downtown and VD. I could see peace becoming more dense all the way from Boylan to the village - some single family homes will have to go.

Yup! With free parking for people like me

Would’ve been real f’king nice if the new apartments they’re building on the edge of the district closest to downtown would include some damn retail space…

Pricey ice cream (tiny scoops) but I’m sure it will have some traffic. I was at the Charlotte one and it had a line of 30 people but it was during the street closure.

I’ll walk the extra several blocks to pick up hand scooped Howling Cow at Talley Market in the Talley Student Union. Not only is the ice cream cheaper and locally sourced, its serving sizes are large and they have cookie dough (which Jeni’s does not).

Hopefully Jeni’s becomes novelty enough to release the pressure valve at Two Roosters…

Two Roosters isn’t unmanageably busy? Even on crowded nights I usually get a seat at one of the outdoor tables.
