I mean, Goodberry’s is right there in M. Night Shyamalan’s The Village District. Nothing beats a plain ol’ vanilla custard from Goodberry’s.

I wish we could speak a Howling Cow into Smokey Hollow store kind of-presence into existence

I think that I’d get really fat if that happened, but I’d be smiling along the way!

I’m down for some Goodberry’s too, but sometimes I just gotta have some hand dipped cookie dough.

We’re already getting rolled ice cream in Smoky Hollow. I’m banking we get an ice cream shop in a few years in The Creamery Project. Howling Cow could be a great option

Ahh you’re right I forgot about Milk Lab right? I hope in a building called The Creamery, that previously specialized in diary products back in the day, we can find space for something like the Howling Cow. Seems like it would be a slam dunk.

In regards to Howling Cow - it use to be that State couldn’t sell anything off campus because it would a government entity competing with private business. Has that law changed? It would be totally awesome to have them in the Creamery.

Well, technically, their creamery out by Yates Mill Pond is on university property, so it’s a campus location. Had a scoop last night on the main campus. It was 3 bucks well spent.

You can buy it in Food Lion and Harris Teeter in Chapel Hill.

The law hasn’t changed. The reason we can buy Howling Cow ice cream at Harris Teeter is because the Teet has a licensing agreement to use the branding and recipes, and they produce and sell the ice cream. NC State doesn’t make the Howling Cow products that the Teet sells.

Also, if you haven’t had Howling Cow eggnog, you’re missing out.

I think a lot of the historically ‘agricultural’ colleges have these types of arrangements within their own states where their ice cream or other dairy products are sold in local grocery stores. Not unusual.

are there any snack bars or dinettes in state govt offices now? maybe they could sell some there if they dont already.

ill be back in raleigh briefly in septemeber. wasnt sure about the level of themed burger places that have sprung up. there was a place in reno briefly (bad location so they closed and were only two doors down from a fatburger) that did all their burgers and ‘melts’ on Texas Toast…they really were great. any such in raleigh?

No wonder why all our retail space sits empty downtown, especially on this side of town… $78,000 of rent a year to lease out 1,600 sq ft of ground floor retail…. What a joke.

That looks like shit, it of course can be made something nice if you purchase and not lease it. Looks like a bad neighborhood just by the picture. I would not have used that photo.

New retail / vintage+upcycle thrift store downtown on Wilmington near Hargett called Unorthodox Vintage! Haven’t visited yet but it gave Rumors meets Revision Vintage meets Urban Outfitters vibes in passing.
They just opened last month, according to DTRA. I really hope this location works out for them.
