It’s pretty cringey/lazy Spencer Gifts-tier t-shirt humor with a local twist. Not upset about the storefront opening up for something more interesting.
Interesting; that link led me to this TBJ link about a new multi-vendor retail space that opened up in the basement of the same building (below House of Swank)

Bring me Crunkleton!
Whew; Midwood*, New Anthem, Crunkleton will be a strong combo.
*assuming their bbq is any good, never had nor heard anything about it.
I’ve heard from a couple friends in Charlotte who like Midwood’s stuff, especially their brisket. I’m an ENC kid, so the bar’s pretty dang high.
Does anyone know yet which units the newly-announced tenants will occupy? I’m guessing New Anthem will want one of the larger units like A1?
They could also combine the series of smaller parcels if they wanted to be in the Hollow itself.
Amen (especially) to the idea of a breakfast spot. Ever since Finch’s closed there’s been a lack of classic breakfast options on the north side of Glenwood South.
Bring on an urban Waffle House please!!!
First Watch ain’t cuttin it for me. I am jealous Bloc83 has 321 tho.
A 20 dollar breakfast (main+coffee+tax+tip) is fine for special occasions but it’s not something that I’d do every weekend.
Don’t forget they just landed Vic’s also!
You could go there once every 2 weeks, and make waffles at home the other weekend. I can send you a recipe.
the point is to NOT make my own food every day of the week!
I like first watch , will still go to six forks location cuzzzz free parking.
I’ll go to the new location from time to time when it opens cuzzzz walking.
I’ve said it 1billion times before I’ll say it once more: there is always ample free parking downtown. You just have to walk a tad bit more than 20 feet to your destination.
This is especially true for weekend mornings when most of us consider a sit-down breakfast place like First Watch.
Yeah, on weekend mornings, downtown is practically a “for locals only” zone. You can park anywhere.
I go to Heat so I’m curious which of those spots they’ll take up. The current size of their fitness-only space is about 2500 sq ft so maybe A2 or C2?
Will definitely miss their old spot on Glenwood - that was the perfect spot for them but definitely happy they’re sticking around downtown Raleigh.
I’ve been to Midwood a few times in Charlotte at their Plaza Midwood location and it was pretty solid. And MilkLab is awesome as most people know.
