What’s your only one good spot? Oakwood Pizza Box is likely my forever #1 in Raleigh. La Piazza is still a solid slice of pizza tho in my opinion.
Its Oakwood. Di Fara is okay too.
AC’s Fox Liquor Bar sent out an email earlier that it will be transitioning to an event space after 8/3. Very similar sounding plan to what happened with Junction West.
Really like Fox - loved Junction West. Will miss going to these spots.
Basically means they’re closing. Special events = I’m not special enough, so I’ll never be in there again. AC seems to be doing pretty poorly. Maybe focus on 1 or 2 restaurants and making them great.
I’ll add that the one time I went in there, the lights were very bright and the music was very loud. It seemed like the opposite of how a cellar bar would be and I had no desire to return.
Complex Brew just opened up inside the Main level of the Convention Center, next to the Sir Walter Statue. “…coffee creations (sourced by 321 coffee), beverages, pastries, and other treats”
Yeah uhhhhh sorry but Buffalo pizza >>>>>> NYC pizza. Love em both, but Buffalo has it just right: thicker crust, slightly sweeter sauce, heavier on the cheese, and always cupped and charred pepperoni. Bella in Lackawana was always my family’s go-to, but today I’d have to say Edie’s in Hamburg is probably the best pizza I’ve ever had in my life. Buffalo also has more pizzerias per capita than NYC and Chicago. Your assertion that a Buffalonian wouldn’t know “good pizza” only tells me that you’ve never been to Buffalo nor actually know any Buffalonians personally lol.
Hah, I know plenty of Buffaloans, that’s how I knew it would get a rise.
That said, I tend to dislike sweet in my entrees, and thin Neapolitan style pizza is my favorite. New Haven has my favorite northeastern regional style outside of NYC. Buffaloan pepperoni sounds pretty strong, though.
Literally every detail of pizza gotten wrong…
Its not that sweet, just slightly sweeter. Still tastes like a tomato sauce. You balance it with extra hot wings.
Again, clearly never been to Buffalo nor tried Buffalo pizza. It’s better than NYC. I’ve been to and had both. Sorry to share the objective truth.
I’ve been to Buffalo. I wouldn’t want their pizza since what you described is broken pizza.
Right - “sweet” in the sense that a good, fresh vine-ripened tomato is “sweet” - in other words, tastes like actual fresh tomato sauce. In other other words, better pizza.
Listen, there is no argument here. Like Jake said, Buffalo pizza is objectively - the best.
Sorry to have hijacked this thread with Phil, but this is SERIOUS business. I am now very hungry. Edie’s pizza (Hamburg, NY - suburb of Buffalo):
That is peak pizza right there.
I just love that I found the emoji lol
My pizza is bigger than yours.
I am not even going to ask how you did that.
