Young Hearts Distillery closing after New Years. Surprise to no one.

Looks like Decree Company is leaving their space. It’s showing as available to be rented here:

It is/was pretty niche - I think super niche/specialized retail like that certainly can work in a city… just a city that has more foot traffic, tourism, and other retail than Raleigh does. I don’t know when the hell that time will come… seems like Raleigh has just been coasting on bare minimum for like 15 years lol

I just tried Daijobu for lunch and it’s my new favorite ramen spot. There’s a lot more to the menu that I want to try.

Damn that all looks GOOD!!!

Best ramen in town, for sure. And better than a lot I’ve had in bigger cities.

How does it compare to Dashi? And the ramen we make at home?

Your rahman is too rich for my taste, and I didnt like the G & P shape of the noodles.

How does it compare to Noodle Blvd?

Saw Benchwarmers is opening at NHID as well as over in Rockway…
Add that to the Jubala location at 300H…lining up a busy 2025 for that crew…Kudos!

The Benchwarmers news is new to me. That is a much shorter drive when I am in town.
Good for them!

Decree news has been out for a while. They are only moving because they acquired a different, older stationary company in NY. It was an awesome spot that did well from what I’ve been told. The owner is also the wood artist who makes the unmistakable benches/chandeliers/tables, including the chandeliers at Brewery Bhavana. I loved how they were so local and it hurts to lose them from that prominent corner. It’s not because it failed there though.

Neighborhood in SH will become Moon Room, a jazz and vinyl centric space. I loved C. Grace so happy to get more jazz in town, curious to see how the space feels though.

Damn I love this news. C. Grace is sorely missed, I was only able to go a couple of times before they closed + Missy Lane’s in Durham is a decent alternative, but it’s all the way in Durham, so more Jazz options are always welcomed IMO.

Not that anyone cares, but this is my type of place.
The only thing that could make it better is if they were located on Fayetteville Street and underground…

I did a little googling and it does look like this is a bar/club.

Apart from an empty Instagram page, I found this job posting: “VICE is a vibrant bar and nightclub located in the heart of Glenwood South, Raleigh”

Thank God! I was hoping it would be a bar!

Just what Glenwood South desperately needs! A nightclub named Vice. How original!

I hate they gave themselves the name “Vice”, got cheap and painted their name onto brick. If you’re going to try and bring Miami Vice vibes to Glenwood, the least you can do is invest in a dang neon sign for your entrance…

The Glenwood Bar owners continue to scoop up every single property and put in very uninspiring bar concepts.
