Well they tried it without it, but the Great Depression wasn’t very popular with voters.

This is why they are closing…the new Mayor knows Moore Square homeless. Taz’s & the bus stop are the number 1 culprits. Hopefully she has a council with some balls to really do something about it…

Things are noticably better than they were two years ago, it’s a bit misleading to reference that

From Triangle Food Blog:

Sixty Vines, a vineyard-inspired restaurant with locations throughout the South, plans to open in late 2025 at 4000 Center at North Hills in a 2-story space. It will be located in One North Hills in the Main District, in the space Limani Grille originally planned to occupy, near RH Gallery and its rooftop restaurant. They will serve brunch, lunch and dinner and feature an extensive selection of wine on tap. Its food menu includes charcuterie boards, appetizers, salads, pizza, pasta, main entrees, sandwiches and more. The space will feature outdoor patios on both the first and second floors, as well as a bar on each floor with operable windows to create indoor or outdoor bar areas.

Go down there around 9:00 tonight & tell me that it’s not still an issue. Why do you think the Trophy Brewing folks also exited their business down there? I know for a FACT the ‘issues’ are still a problem.

Sounds like a great concept for the location. Doesn’t exactly sound like it’s going to be the most interesting food, but a nice place to go with your parents after doing some shopping.

Went to Mazahua Azteca last night in the old Oak City Meatball shop (had been craving tamales, which they don’t have, but still wanted to try it)…

It was excellent - kind of an elevated take on more traditional Mexican dishes - everything we had was very, very good. We got the tlacoyitos (a masa dumpling with beans and cheese and topped with cactus), birria spring rolls, a grilled huitlacoche quesadilla, a fried squash blossom quesadilla, and some rice and plantains - it was all extremely good and I’m really excited to go back and try more of their menu…

A few quick notes - they only opened this week, the service was okay (it was the server’s first day and I think he was still getting the hang of things, but he did a fine job) and they still don’t have their liquor license - in spite of all this I highly recommend trying it - was definitely one of the more interesting/unexpected meals I’ve had in Raleigh in a long long time

I literally walk through there on a an almost daily basis after 9pm and I can promise you that the area is significantly better than it was when that article was made in 2023.

I drive through downtown every morning and it even seems like more people are going into the office these days. Mornings just seem busier.

Cortez announced they’ll be closing, remodeling, and opening as a new concept.

This is the way that you properly communicate when changing concepts.

That’s too bad. I really like Cortez and have been there several times. Hopefully the new concept will also be good. I agree that if a change is needed, this is a solid communication.

We kept meaning to check out “that new place, Cortez.” How old do I feel realizing it’s been 8 years already. My bad, though. I will have to be more diligent with the new concept.

You’ve got a few more weeks to try it.

Tried out Tucker Street Diner today. Some kinks in the service – as expected – but the food was excellent. Solid menu, very reasonable prices (especially compared to others in Smokey Hollow). I think it’s going to crush it here.
