General Retail/Restaurant News

Speaking of tongue… does anyone know of any good Korean barbecue places around here?

(or really, the Triangle in general, outside of Cary’s H-Mart?)

I’ve enjoyed Seoul Garden at Atlantic and Millbrook. I went with my friend who lived in Korea for a decade teaching English, and he said it was solid. It was also comparable to the places I visited in Koreatown in LA.

My wife’s grad professor from NC State was Korean, and he used to bring everybody to Seoul Garden for casual outings. His Korean students also said it was very good for The Triangle.

Thanks! Sounds like Seoul Garden’s worth a shot, then

I went to Seol Grille when they first opened (not for their KBBQ though), and I remember it being alright but nothing to write home about. The customer-facing parts of that place was incredibly clean, though! -and not just by hole-in-the-wall standards. Maybe it wouldn’t be bad to try them, too, despite the pandemic.

Nice, I didn’t know that was one of Cheney Brothers customers, we haul a good amount of their potatoes and onions.
They must be very close to opening, James Goodnight just posted pictures of their progress and interior basically complete. We might be smelling the first couple of pigs this week or next. I honestly hope there’s a visible smoke trail coming from their smokehouse you can see driving into downtown.

For your smoking pleasure (Sam Jones):

They’re planning a solid cocktail menu as well.

They look to shiny, new, clean for me to trust them, yet.
I’ll let y’all break them in before I try it out. (as if I have a choice, lol)
Hope to visit R’wood in March.

Good Lord that looks serious. Might be the most serious smokehouse DTR now - not sure what The Pit’s BoH looks like. Pretty stoked to try this!!!
