We have movement at the former Subconscious building…
I am deeply worried about Alamo Drafthouse… That would be a huge hit. Covid for sure did a number on them. Kinda hoping the low cost of the Raleigh location helped them skirt by.
Aside from The Ritz, Marketplace, and a Drafthouse theater in Kansas City, Missouri, all Alamo locations are currently set to remain open.
Edit - Looks like ours survived. Wow, Austin didn’t? Holy cow.
The original Austin location did but Austin has several. Still the lame-ication of Austin is only helped by this.
Wow. Hope that is accurate and those are the only closures. I really like Alamo. Used to go before the pandemic but haven’t been since COVID. I hope they can make it.
Start ordering takeout from there if you are not comfortable dining or going to the movie physically. Also, if you have a ‘germ circle’ like so many of us have, you can rent out a theater for just you and your ‘safe friends’ to watch from a wide array of films…
Spending money with these guys will help keep this location off the cut list.
We rented a theater at Alamo a few weeks ago and took 15 friends socially distanced throughout the theater. It was lots of fun and they did a great job. It was a fun thing to do with friends and we all felt comfortable and spread out.
I assumed Austin had more than one. The Ritz was the keystone of their whole operation though, I’d thought. It was one of the fondest memories I had of Austin. I can imagine 6th street is an expensive place to sit around doing nothing for a year.
Awesome. I did the same back in October. It was so much fun.
Sup Dogs?
Was coming here just to post this
Honestly a great replacement for the loss of Snoopy’s.
Okay, I am confused @JKK @Will & @IanHoppes.
Huh?
SupDogs is one of ECU’s best known fast food (hotdog) spots. It’s a classic late night fast food restaurant in Greenville, they stay open until 2/3am. Really good hotdogs, burgers, and fries.
From the photo they posted it looks like they are opening a spot on Hillsborough street close to Zaxby’s.
@Brandonq said he noticed movement at the old Sub Conscious Subs. I wonder if it’s the new location for Sub Dogs.
I was confused because I was still caught up in the Snoopy’s discussion, but that made me more confused because of the location out that way already.
That would be a nice replacement. Sup Dogs in Chapel Hill is extremely popular as well.
Mon Macaron will open its first storefront location at Seaboard Station in Downtown Raleigh sometime this month. They sell macarons if that wasn’t obvious.
I hope they are successful!
And I’m really looking forward to the taco shop next door!
I miss Kimbop, that was some awesome and creative food.
Man am I gonna mis SubConscious though. One of the best subs in Raleigh, losing them is one of the biggest bummers for me.
