Maybe they pivot to more housing, or even a hotel. This is a better place for … is it Moxy that wanted to build on West - than on West.
Make that phase, 20 story hotel + resy…C’mon now!
So what about the massive parking deck that’s supposed to serve the resi tower and the office that would be built on top of the deck? Will they build that alongside the resi tower and then just hold off on starting the box on top of said deck?
^ That’s a really good question.
Phase 1 has part of the parking deck, and the top level has the amenity deck. But the woonerf / retail alley from the base of the office tower would be Phase 2.
Exactly why are they Sooo intent on a Office, know telling when that Market is coming back. I would love to see a Canopy Hotel there.
I’m just glad we get a little crown…
says leases for this property are ending in September and we should start to see initial activity happening in October. This is coming from a source that has visibility into the back office financials. TBD, but promising. Initial project is the resi tower at the corner of North/Glenwood.
Great news if it materializes. Really just a hard to fathom amount of residential coming into greater DTR over the course of the 2020s.
Looking forward to this project bring more balance to Glenwood South.
I’ll believe it once I see shovels moving. Too many of these projects have expected construction starts months away that we’re still waiting for years later.
Agree, but, several sources aligning with consistent info is encouraging news.
I will be pleasantly surprised if we see a new office tower built in Raleigh before the end of the decade.
N&O is claiming this will be Raleigh’s tallest highrise. Has something changed height wise if not, why hasn’t anyone notified the writers that floor height does not coincide with building height. I got excited for nada.
Pretty sure it’s the floor vs building height issue again that keep tripping them up when they talk about the Eastern.
Paywalled - what’s it say about the height?
No mention of height in the article. One of people involved did say it would be Raleigh’s tallest
Judging by the comment on the article. They mean tallest by floor count of 37*.
*36 floors, 1 mechanical?
I also think the elevation is higher than at PNC Plaza so it might look as tall.
