The latest ASR shows 37 floors + mechanical, with a height above street level of Glenwood of ~409 feet, depending on the height of the crown. 708’ above sea level.

PNC is 538 feet above grade, which would be about 874 feet above sea level.

The Eastern is 404feet above grade, which would be approximately 762 feet above sea level.

Currently the market is expecting interest rates to drop soon. This can cause a pretty big construction boom in the city since the financing of projects like these may be getting cheaper again.

Probably in September they’ll go down and since most of downtown is rezoned to 40. We should see a lot of ASRs

I feel like any drops would be small and gradual, though. If I had waited this long to start, I’d probably wait for them to bottom out.

Funny to see these two stories posted back-to-back. One is 7 floors, one is 37 floors, both the ā€œtallestā€.

In this way (shorter height/number of floors) Cary reminds me of Chapel Hill.

I think this is just the beginning for Cary to see more buildings this tall or even taller. And I’m really excited to see that resi tower on Glenwood start to get underway!

Hmm wonder if this needs to be fact checked…

Pretty boring and uninspiring…perfect!! i do think it will actually look better in person than the renderings show. The white at least gives it a bit of character and should pop. Stick a spire on it and make it an even 40 :grimacing: I’ll still take it.

i feel like i no longer have the luxury to be picky about fancy designs after the great hope of 2007 Raleigh skyline renderings and proposed projects. Maybe in 2030 when we get our random OKC supertall sister tower

Where is that located?

The sky deck on the 36th floor of The Eastern. I’ve never bothered to validate this but just assumed that the elevation is higher here given it’s North Hills…

It looks like The Eastern sits on land about 20 feet higher than PNC Plaza. I call bullshit.

At least they didn’t say it’s the tallest, just that it’s got the highest number of floors. Wait till they see this Lego I’m building that has 100 floors but is only 10 feet tall…

Wow, are we going to see demo/crane soon? This was not on my 2024 bingo card

Per the WRAL story noted above, the developer (Turnbridge Equities) plans to break ground by the end of this year. This project will dramatically enhance the western end of the skyline. C’mon cranes!

Reminder phase 1 is just the residential tower… and who knows if the office tower even gets built… so quite a bit different looking than what’s being portrayed from the whole build-out.

If the office market doesn’t rebound, maybe they pivot to another residential tower in it’s place.
