Oh good. If I remember correctly, there was a really tasty Korean joint there previously that did they best they could decor-wise, but wow was the building tired.
I remember when this was an electrical supply company - I am pretty sure that is what it was, something industrial and supply related. It was a big deal when it was remodeled as a mini-mall, but that didn’t seem to really catch on. Good to see the building holding on a new ideas coming to keep it viable. Whatever they do it will be a darn sight better than the abandoned construction site down the block.
Seriously… If any part of this area needed a revamp, it’s that empty half built grey slab mess on the other side of Target.
Gotta love our friends at CityPlat
We need a ‘Sh**T or Get Off’ Royal Rumble between CityPlat and Highwoods for the GOTFW championship belt…

Looks like the demo of the old Doubletree hotel is coming up to make way for the 12-story Core Spaces student apartment building.
Sayonara to one of the worst parking lot moats on Hillsborough. Excellent.
Oh, well just you wait for what is SURE to be a uniquely designed student apartment building, which will SURELY have a well hidden parking deck!
Is there a date it’s starting? Gonna sit across the street and watch all day(s). Kidding. Kind of.
We still need to schedule our watch party for the Holiday Inn implosion whenever it gets scheduled
That is literally the highlight of my upcoming year as far as DTR is concerned. It better freaking happen. And not when I’m out of town. Who do I call to schedule this?
I saw them clearing out rooms on Tuesday.
Demolition company and Barnhill signage is up at the Hillsborough Doubletree. That should be coming down imminently.
The YMCA just tore down a c1912 house they own behind the Doubletree property at 222 Park. Are there any plans for the land?

If this is right on the corner back there, my buddy lives across the street and said he noticed a giant tree branch came down and split the house in half, practically - so we’re wondering if the structural integrity was just too far gone to try and save.
That’s probably the answer - thank you!
How’s that doubletree demo going? I completely forgot about that project
Oh yay. More surface parking.
