Well, that’s one way to fill that inside corner.
That is absolutely crazy. Some college kids are gonna be living large up there.
kinda f**king stupid if you ask me. College kids don’t need this shit. But here we are in the land of excess…
nobody needs a hot tub. but i’ll eat a sock if these units don’t get fully leased in year one.
I’ve heard of at least one building that’s allegedly offering ~40% off on a year’s rent for some existing residents now that Hub Raleigh is opening, so…
I’m eating shoes, you’re eating socks… damn is Raleigh’s food scene really going downhill!!!
If I were in college now at State, I’d be taking advantage of that naturally occurring affordable student housing! I didn’t even have my own bedroom when I was in college, no less a private room with a double bed for hookups.
Sounds better than unfancy tacos…

Haha yeah, it’s the building I’ll be living in next fall but sadly I wasn’t lucky enough to get that deal… Maybe next year!
A hot tub unit must have at least chemistry major living in it and if no one gets a bacterial skin infection for the semester they get an A.
Former long time server/restaurant worker. Can confirm Sunday lunch is the worst shift of the week for tips. Very well known in the industry.
College students and hot tubs?? Those units will be gone and leased out on day 1.
Welcome to Raleigh. Enjoy our vast collection of brick/grey/beige/black 5-over-1 apartment monoliths!
and nobody better try to
me into believing that we are trying to mimic Paris.
I’ll admit, the yimby in me is sad to see parcels like this get demolished.
It’s nice to get the increase in housing units in a walkable neighborhood, but the naturally occurring affordable housing in this kind of scale and design is tough to lose.
That’s very sad, I really like this building.
This is just kind of unavoidable with being a fast growing city. Most of our medium density is in places that need to be high density, and the places that need to be medium density are SFH.
I totally get it, but it’s still sad to lose missing middle housing like this that’s naturally affordable in exchange for increasingly crappy built apartment buildings that will start to look like
in a decade.
Especially when the older housing it’s taking place of looks great now and will still look great in a decade.
