After only 2 weeks of moving gravel around, they’ve apparently got the dirt piles in just the right spots. So now the crane that installs itself can arrive.
Update: it’s bigger but taking a nap.

So far this part of the process is about 6 weeks behind schedule. Wrapping the building still has a floor or so to go as well. All of this was supposed to have happened in late December/early January. Guess those late nights will continue…
I don’t know. Looks to me like they are still fixin’ to get started.
Ahh I saw those being delivered yesterday down western. I was wondering where they were headed.
Great angle Jeff. So glad you are also taking charge of watching this child grow up. LOL.
Not entirely on topic, but in the rest of the world, prefab concrete is used not just for parking decks but for floor slabs and even walls and structural elements in residential buildings as well.
If you want the pathway to better construction quality than stick built 5+1, with lower cost than conventional cast-in-place concrete - this is it.
There are suppliers and builders in the US who can do this, but capacity is limited. If I were a developer or builder I would be investing heavily in this. It’s the future.
I prefer it in your picture. So much more charming and filled with that unique downtown Raleigh character.
