When we first moved to Raleigh in the 70s, our next door neighbors used to drink their alcohol out of coffee cups, to not offend Jesus or something like that.

Haha to also share an alcohol in public anecdote: I remember in Vienna it was fairly common for people to casually drink a beer riding the subway on the weekends

Apparently they just recently banned that in London. I was like, wow, I didn’t know London had been so cool! Certainly didn’t try doing that last time I was there…

This is absolutely amazing. Good for Raleigh. I’m sure the beers will be $6-$7 to help discourage people from getting hammered out there. I also wonder how they’ll police outside beer/wine from making it’s way into the square, or is that even going to be a rule? (I’d have to believe it is.)
I’ll just bring my own in a fancy pint glass

Plastic or compostable cups is what I’d guess it’ll be.
