Municipal Services and Safety in DTR

401 N West St is Still Life nightclub. Somehow I’m not surprised by this.

That is some serious bullshit.

Yeah, it’s like when the Raleigh fire department comes into your building for an unannounced inspection, they find noting wrong and you get a nice fat bill for said inspection.

Yes! Michael is the best  I also emailed last night and he said someone would check in on it today.

Someone from the staff already emailed me this morning and said they were illegally placed there. They’ve reached out to the property management company and the signs should be removed today. That is some prompt response time!

Please fine that “place”. That is the most work they have done to that place in three years.

Alright! Okay where is the after picture.

Those of you who have been keeping up with this thread probably recall that John from the house of Swank speculated that perhaps the removal of these receptacles has more to do with the people who own the parking lot than it does with the people who own the bank. This recent stunt, placing private signs on that street make me wonder even further if he might be onto something. Hopefully, his Freedom of Information Act request will be fruitful in finding out what is going on here. The taxpayers of Raleigh deserve to know why, within 72 hours, the city council pulled the plug on what was to be a six-month experiment at the cost of $100,000 of wasted taxpayer money.

Aren’t we talking about two completely different areas?

House of Swank and Briggs Hardware both commented on how happy they were that for the first time in years loose trash was not blowing by their businesses. The underground trash bins are pretty much directly west about a block-and-a-half from his establishment.

Unless I’m missing something, the self-erected-claimed Parking spots are in Glenwood South.

Disclaimer: I’m at a bar in Des Moines that has 260 beers on tap.

OMG. I think you might be right. Oh wow. I’m in Raleigh and not even drinking yet. LOL maybe that’s the problem. Never mind me.

That’s nothing to Beer Garden!

I have dropped beer garden off my rounds. While I live 3 minutes from it, I think they struggle to keep their beer fresh and it’s not usually as cold as I like it. And I found their price is too high. Just a personal opinion.

They also mischarge beers all the time and act like it’s an inconvenience to fix it. And the bartenders are often surly. And agree about the beer

Quantity not quality.

That happened to me as well. Last time I went there, I ordered two pints. Nothing extravagant, and the total was $18. That was two years ago. I asked the bartender if he was sure that was right, and he looked at me with that death look and said ”ah yeah”. So like a DA I paid. Both of us agreed the beers were not fresh and they certainly were not cold. So I have not been back since and don’t plan to.
