Fair enough :joy: I’ll downgrade my hopes to ‘maybe they’ll put out a bench and a potted plant’

LOL
I have zero hopes for this project, but the mysterious nature of it keeps me intrigued.

I heard 7 or so stories above ground.

It will be clad in gold throughout, no doubt.

Perhaps paused due to state budget negotiations?

Lots of activity now…

No I meant just not a lot of people downtown all over the construction sites were busy but plenty of on street parking and not much traffic.

Wow they’ve almost built… the ground!

They actually poured the final block of concrete over the dirt yesterday. And this morning they have metal beams going up, which makes sense for the size of this project (vs concrete all the way up). This should start to take shape pretty quickly now!

Edit: already outdated. Big update since I posted

I was wondering if/when they would switch over to steel. The pace will definitely pickup now. :building_construction:

I found a proper tree for the topping out ceremony. I think @John will approve. :upside_down_face:

I wonder how many tons of concrete so far? This is a massive structure!

It’s insane that they haven’t put out anything about this yet. They’re really just going to build it and then say “oh yeah, there it is.” In a sane world they would put out their own statement spinning it as a positive. Banana republic shit

Very, very, very weird. We’ve talked a lot in this thread about the total lack of transparency with this project. It is still sooooo mind-boggling that after the structure is now well above ground but still no rendering. And the people that make the decisions to build this edifice use tax payers’ money to do so and they also supposedly work for the tax payer?!?!? Well, at least in theory they do. I cant recall ever seeing something this massive and costly with us the tax payers having absolutely no clue as to what the finished project will look like. Ugh…

I agree with both of you, but I will confess I’m kind of enjoying the mystery. I’m prepared to be disappointed with the final result, though.
