I really enjoy the area, wonderful character and I would image more neighborhood retail will happen in due time with the density. The close proximity to Chavis Memorial Park is ideal and just heading east on bike or scooter gets you to so many local restaurants and bars (we’ve made sure to include bike storage in the building)!

Looks like the southernmost unit sold on 8/30 for $1.45M

And the sidewalk has re-opened :tada:

AND they’ve started the second set of units (hard to see from the pic, but if you zoom in you can see some of the foundation has been poured)

Need to plant some sidewalk trees on that side of downtown. I used to roast during my infrequent excursions.

Beautiful townhomes but one and a half million, jesus h christ…

Looking at this stretch, street trees were my first thought as well - but where? That space between sidewalk and road looks tiny - maybe some of those Italian Cyprus shrubie things that grow straight up?

hope they get every penny they are asking…

They are putting in street trees, grates, and gridded sidewalk to the curb. I like the consistency with other new DTR developments and extending that sidewalk design/standard east.

Hadn’t seen it mentioned here, but I was biking up S Haywood and noticed a pretty odd house under construction.

Pretty sure it’s a Lustron house!

Yeah, that’s the vibe I get as well. I wonder if it was bought, disassembled and moved?

It was a Lustron home and it was moved.

This house has been “under construction” for at least 5 years now. They had to put that fence up to keep people from camping out and doing drugs in there. I’ve heard immediate neighbors complain that it’s become a haven for rats.

All in all, it’s a little frustrating that it’s been allowed to remain in this state for as long as it has, but what’re you gonna do? Only lately have they put up the walls and roof, so I guess maybe whoever owns it is slowly raising the money to piece it together. I guess look out for this to be complete sometime around 2030!

We attempted to purchase the home to the right of this picture 8 years ago and the frame was standing like this:

This has been an ongoing issue, but at least the siding was installed months ago and hasn’t changed since.

Kinda like 615 Peace. But hey they did eventually get that finished.

Lol I had no idea. I’d seen it in the frame state for the first time earlier this year, noticed the siding and assumed it was new and progressing.

Idyle Townhomes. The second set is progressing quickly

Only one of Idyle’s townhomes from phase 1 has sold, not sure why they have not secured more pre-sales or buyers.

The price is a pretty tough pill to swallow for a townhome on this side of town (and I say that as someone who owns a house 3 blocks away)
