“One of the city’s bikeshare stations was destroyed early Thursday morning after a BMW plowed into it on Hillsborough Street. The car, a 2010 BMW sedan, drove off after hitting several bikes and the kiosk on the sidewalk in front of the Aloft hotel, across from the N.C. State University Memorial Belltower. Police found the car around the corner on Enterprise Street but have not located the driver, Hourigan said. The crash took place at 2:53 a.m., she said, and police have no evidence to suggest it was intentional.”

Last week a box truck snagged sagging utility lines and pulled down a utility pole on Sutton Dr. by The Village District. I caught the action live as I was walking to HT to pick up a sub sandwich.

Lettering on the front is a Wal-Mart truck from their Henderson DC. This driver is lost, the next closest Wal-Mart is 64 or New Hope Church Rd. not surprising this was the final result.

He’s lost, and probably paying attention to his phone or GPS and not the road. It’s a Wal-Mart local driver from their Henderson DC.
Just out of curiosity does anyone know if this bridge is due to be replaced when the new high speed rail S line is complete?
That level of design / detail hasn’t been finalized but technically as planned the HSR would be adjacent to this main track.
