I’m especially enjoying the artistic metal curl where the trailer met the bridge. That should be saved and put in the Hollow as a sculpture.

It was today, Saturday. I’m guessing around 4:30p as my photo was from 4:52p.
This is so hilarious and baffling all at the same time…@ what point are truck drivers not notified of the clearance of this bridge?
It is almost like there is no mass communication device(s) that would tell a tractor-trailer driver not to go this route.
Is it still 1974 in truck driver land?

It’s not like Capital isn’t right there with an easy exit onto Johnson. I agree that it makes no sense that they don’t know.

That exit is kind of sharp though for trucks that size… I think

I highly doubt that tractor-trailers were not considered when designing that exit. It might not be easy, but driving one in any city isn’t necessarily easy.

I just feel like there might be weight issues 
I own a logistics company and this occurs more frequently than you would imagine. Most carriers have GPS that determines routes specifically for 18-wheelers, but not all carriers have them. Especially considering this is a local transfer truck only used by Publix to ship from the DC which is located in Greensboro. Notice how that truck doesn’t have a sleeper unit attached to tractor itself, limiting this truck to only day trips, so they most likely do not have that particular GPS. Although the driver should be watching out for any signs indicating an approaching low hanging bridge, without first seeing the bridge in front of you, you won’t look for any indications of it’s height. There is also an overwhelming sea of signs and distractions on Peace St. to easily miss the only 2 signs approaching it, a no entrance sign for Semi trucks would be more effective. I am currently dealing with a similar issue where a driver backed into the awning at a gas station, luckily not as bad and not exposing the interior.
