RALtoday did a snippet on it as well a while back. It will have a bar too. Late capitalism is weird

Yeah, I remember looking up the menu at another location like this, and it was like $20 cocktails and $30 small plates. Iām definitely going to check it out at least once, but unless I suddenly inherit millions, I doubt thatāll be my go-to hangout⦠LOL
There are plenty of million plus dollars homes going in on the east side of Six Forks that can afford a decorator.
Youād think that the RH items would have a QR code or something that could take shoppers to a website for online impulse buying. Walking away from a store without buying anything ābecause you have your decorator with youā seems like a really old model of doing business. I mean, isnāt this just like going to the furniture market? Is RH abandoning selling small housewares and tchotchkes?
Maybe they are making their rent payments with expensive small plates and cocktails?
Maybe theyāre geared towards the big shots dropping $15k/month for that penthouse in the Walter/Eastern/whatever itās called now.
If you let your stylist go could probably swing it. Life requires hard choices, my friend.
Man, Iām supposed to have a stylist?! Theyāre really not doing their jobā¦
Iām confused about submitting the plans after theyāve already started construction, or is this another phase?
Edit: Maybe itās just the title of the video confusing me, which says āKane Realty Submits Plansā¦ā
I went to the RH in Yountville, CA (right down the road from The French Laundry) and have never felt so out of place lol. Truly a unique experience. Almost everything in there was $10k+. Cool place though.
The stuff theyāre selling is so high end, itās like a buying a car. Itās all about making the products and the associated lifestyle hyper-desirable and aspirational to everyone, so the few who can actually buy it know itās going to make the impression they want.
Kind of like Ferrari running a Formula 1 team - most F1 fans canāt actually buy a Ferrari, but the people who can know all those fans will think itās really cool.
Amazon is closing all its 4-Star stores, including one at Crabtree Valley Mall and another that had not opened yet at Southpoint:

but you can actually buy a car at a car dealership. I dunno⦠they know better than me. It just sounds more like glamour/branding play than a serious business venture.
Last time I paid over $20 for a cocktail I was at the rooftop bar of the iconic Marina Bay Sands hotel in Singapore.
Iāve been to that rooftop bar, but it was just to look at the view.
What a $25~ Singapore Sling looks like lol but the view is great you donāt even need to get into the bar area to get to the rooftop. Thereās a great view area by the elevators.
Singapore builds iconic structures like every year, I think Raleigh just needs one one-of-a-kind structure to shake off some of the beige-ness.
Also went the roof bar of one of those tall buildings that you can see across the bay from MBS. That view is also spectacular!
That last one looks like the proposed structure at Midtown. Raleigh could be the next Singapore!
That 3 tower hotel with the platform across the top is the building from where @Francisco took his photos.
In fairness, though, theyāre an entire country thatās only double the size of Raleigh but with 12x the population. Incredible to see in photos, of course, and Iām sure to visit.
