Yes, that’s what I meant by replacing existing older stations. There’s 28 stations right now and they should probably be up to at least 30 or 31 by now.

I wonder how this new location will affect events at Memorial Auditorium. Having the sirens go off in the middle of a performance would be disruptive. Maybe there are some sound proofing measures?
Probably no more than any time a fire truck goes by the center on South Street or other nearby streets?
It looks like it’s being oriented sorta behind the loading deck behind Kennedy Theatre. Kennedy likely will hear some noise, but I doubt the larger three on the front (Memorial, Fletcher, Meymandi) will be impacted terribly. They are higher up in elevation.
But it’s a good question and the city should have an acoustics professional study it.
