I mean the ACC will exist, even if it is merely to accept exit fees from departing schools. Whether it’s in 5 or 10 years though, I don’t know. But the ACC as it stands now is not long for this world without some unforeseen event saving it.
Yeah I saw an article about the AD from Florida State saying the quiet part out loud aka all about the money. I think it’s a matter of time before we start seeing some schools making stronger noises about leaving.
All it takes is eight schools to dissolve the conference. I say go ahead and dissolve it. Let the schools that can make the big leagues go. And then form a new acc. It won’t be the big leagues, but I think that it would be truer to what college athletics was supposed to be. I’m a state fan and I know that we are pretty much stuck with the acc. I don’t think the sec or the b1g would ever take us at this point.
Maybe we could waste a few more cycles discussing how great baseboring is……
A must read
I know it’ll never happen, but what would y’all think about a small MLS stadium (+/-20K capacity) at Smoky Hollow Park? Feels like that it would benefit from great visibility along Capital Blvd, be an awesome way to welcome visitors into DTR, would be walking distance from a lot of high density residential area, and there’s precedence given the old baseball stadium that used to be there.
Ya know the empty space where Raleigh puts it’s mobile trucks and everything would’ve been a good spot. If Steve had not put himself in an impossible hole, and move to their locations faster this would’ve been good.
This is pretty cool IMO, saw this is going before the Apex town council soon. The town of Apex and the Carolina Hurricanes are partnering up to develop some multi-use courts at the Apex Community Park. I personally think it’s cool the Hurricanes having stuff in multiple towns in the area (practice facility in Morrisville and this in Apex).
Podcast Raleigh did a deep dive on the Swing development coming to Brier Creek with one of the guys behind it. I don’t remember hearing about this but apparently Raleigh just narrowly lost out on the US Tennis HQ that went to Orlando. The loss of the facility was one of the driving forces behind this big development. There is whole lot of good details for anyone who wants to listen, but they mention 2025 is the planned opening date.
Canes Win! Five To Two! Canes Leads Series Three To One!
Game 5 at home and for the first round win on Tuesday!
Gotta say, I’m not a hockey guy whatsoever - but the Canes one and only Stanley Cup was well before I lived here. I would LOVE to go to a Stanley Cup victory parade downtown.
Glad to see the Islanders are able to enjoy the best of what Raleigh has to offer /s

I learned more about socks in that thread than NHL or the Islanders.

Tennessee Titans got approval for a $2.1 billion stadium to replace the current one built same year as PNC Arena.
Canes win the game and the series!!
I was too excited to post to the forum. You win! Thank God, we made it through that series!
Canes score 6 in the 2nd home game vs the NJ Devils to go up 2-0 in the 2nd round of the Stanley Cup playoffs! The last time they scored 6 goals in a playoff game was 2006, when they went on to win the Cup and Rod Brind’Amour (current head coach) scored the 6th goal in that playoff game!
Let’s Go Canes!!! Take Warning!!!
First of all, hell yeah (much as I generally really like Devils fans).
Second, have the Canes deemphasized Take Warning? I feel like I haven’t seen in near as much this year and it’s such a good tagline. Right there with the Devils’ Raise Hell.
Woo! Canes are killing it!
Why aren’t we lighting the city red, like we have in previous years? We gotta get that going!
