Raleigh Stadium/Arena/Sports Discussions

  • Casino and Resort next to PNC Arena
  • Raleigh SC MLS team forming a legitimate rivalry with Charlottes team
  • MLB team sometime in the near future beyond that

It will happen, we have the power we needs to be aggr to be aggressive, mean, and competitive we have one council member on board his name is @jonathannmeltim. We can use TIG (Tax Increment Grants), we have the Hotel & Tourism Tax and the city and county can definitely fund them. We have our only stadium site rezoned, all it’s needs is an ASR livable Raleigh, MsWorldEnergy123, Tim Niles, all the black supremacist can’t do anything about it but cry like little babies. A billionaire wants us were attractive we have to act like we want one.

Eh…who cares. Take it or leave it.

What that supposed to mean?

It’s spelled @JonathanMelton.

It means that I don’t care about MLS, MLB, or Casinos. I’d rather spend the money on “big city” stuff like parks, housing, and transit. If given the choice between MLS and a fountain, i’ll take the fountain. 10/10 times.

:-1:t6::-1:t6::-1:t6: MLS and MLB to Raleigh is better a fountain the city can get that at any time the could put it at the entrance of DT. In the split of Mcdowell and Dawson. MLS and MLB are better.

Hell of an evening at the Chelsea - Wrexham preseason sellout in Chapel Hill. Had similar vibes to the Stadium Series in feeling like a really special event with a ton of energy. Wrexham’s pregame setup around the Belltower was incredible - made Chelsea’s pretty substantial Fan Zone feel small-scale.

The Triangle consistently shows it comes out for big sporting events.

Chelsea walked over Wrexham because they are much better, but it’s preseason, it’s all about the vibes anyway.

Yeah it was on ESPN, Chelsea whooped ass on Wrexham. But very enjoyable now I’m not going to go into what next and tear the greater triangle sports alliance that be for another time. But I hope they come back.

Where was Ryan Reynolds’s and the always sunny in Philadelphia guy at?

Ryan Reynolds is filming Deadpool 3

They’ve halted production since the SAG strike, unfortunately.

I want in MLB but this gives us a holdover. We could land this but we have to vote for us! And spread the word!!!

Please care about this, whether you like to sport or not.

I wonder what “Carolina” covers. At any rate I voted for that and Raleigh, thanks for the link.

I fear we won’t get a team cause nobody here in the area gives a shit.

I mean with all due respect to the sport, which is actually very entertaining, you’re 100% right.

PLL will take a long time to take off and in the meantime it’s one of those “oh we have a team, I’ll guess I’ll check it out” thing instead of people actually rooting for it.

Similar vibe to Major League Cricket, which is currently playing part of their season in Morrisville with some very high profile athletes, but I’ve barely seen anything on the news or anyone talk about it.

Minor sports are minor sports, you’ll get some people that care about them but this isn’t football/baseball/basketball or even hockey.

I think “oh we have a team, I guess I’ll check it out” is a very underrated mindset that I wish more people embraced. It’s the Field of Dreams concept.

I have had more fun showing up to random NC State tennis matches with a few buddies and some beer than I’ve had at several games involving teams and sports I care more about day-to-day

Well, they got the Aho deal done. Meanwhile, fans will be paying 40 bucks to park, 20 bucks for a storm brew, and 150 bucks for a ticket in the nose bleeds so that Aho can make 10 mil per year to be an above average player. Oh, and 20 bucks a month to Bally for streaming access.

Edit: Aho sucks in the playoffs.

…that is the pro sports business model, yes.

You’re very grumpy about a team that made the conference finals. I haven’t had one of my teams get that far in any sport (European soccer aside) since the Sharks made the finals in 2016.

$30 to park 20 yards from the stadium, $7.50 for Storm Brew (best price I’ve ever seen for beer at a major league sports team), and $150 would get you a good ticket for any non playoff game.

Aho is a point per game player in the playoffs.

Not really sure about the purpose of this post when you’re going to throw around made up numbers. Comes across like a road fan that came to a game and watched the Canes win 5-0.
