Raleigh Stadium/Arena/Sports Discussions

Sounds/reads like their potential portfolio. Am I misreading? It wouldnt be the 1st time.

Potential yes, but I donā€™t think they mean for this campus.

Quality over quantity. A home is just now being completed next to mine. It has a nice garage for your Volkswagen. You could even be cool and add a Rivian and drive to Lowes grocery at Chatham Park so you would not have to schelp to Publix any longer.

I donā€™t need to move to Chatham because I already live there rent free in your head. :kissing_heart:

Is St. Augustines an actual viable spot for an MLB team? I feel like the road infrastructure there couldnā€™t handle 30,000+ people moving in and out of that area.

You are correct. No chance you can put a stadium of that size in that location.

Whoever runs that account was also the person who took a rendering for the Battery in Atlanta, threw the Lenovo Center in the background, and then posted it saying that was what the Lenovo Center development could look like. Totally left out Carter-Finley - not to mention that the road configuration of the adjacent area was obviously nothing like reality. They seem to feed off posting renderings of things that will not happen just for clicks and social media engagement.

Marc Lasry is no longer buying a majority stake of the Courage. Apparently the deal fell through because of private equity restrictions from the league. Malik said he is still discussing with additional investors.

is this for a new STADIUM (ie a spot to eventually replace the FOOTBALLS STADIUM) or a spot to replace the INDOOR ARENA?

Its Phase 4, the last plot scheduled for development, so in 20-30 years, they could just build a new arena at the NW corner and then use the current arena land for more development.

Not exactly Raleigh, but should be good for attention on RTP sports:

As a former Patriots fan, I find this hilarious. I have no problem with Carolina, despite being a State fan, but I never watch college football. Iā€™m curious to see how he does for sure though. Maybe Brady and Gronk can enroll while they pursue degrees in art history.

Letā€™s just say that the 10 NFL seasons he (Belichick) coached without Tom Brady as his QB, were less than stellar.

Yes. And isnā€™t he in his 70ā€™s? Age alone makes this a short term hire. Heā€™s not going to be there for 5 years tops.

Very short sighted for UNC.

The last 5 coaches only averaged around 5 years anyway. So 5 years would be okay.

His girlfriend who close to my age I think goes to UNC or lives in that area.

Nope, sheā€™s from Maine and went to Bridgewater State in Massachusetts

Heā€™s 72, which is how old my mom is turning next month. Tread lightly. (Kidding)

Heā€™s actually a year younger than the current coach, and apparently his dad coached UNC football in the early 50s. Obviously this is his destiny. Lol!
