All of the natural lighting that will pour into that facility will be astonishing.
Hopefully someone from Hoffman is there to provide information on when to expect construction of the tower portion. Can we still call it a tower?
Something something market conditions blah blah macro economic factors
Tower-ette. It can be our speciality. It boutique, very chic.
It will probably be a 5 over 1 when all is said and done
fun activities that didn’t make the official news release / insta:
- colored chalk sidewalk drawing: dead body outline contest for the kids
- syringe and crack pipe scavenger hunt for the teens
- self defense training workshops for adults
JOKING people
5 over 1 over 2? Or something like that.
The 1 is the construction type (non combustable). It’s the higest fire rated type of construction. Type 5 is wood frame. Slap some type 5 over what’s there and you get 5over1.
Are we meeting under the one standing wall for the photo op?
That stuff never sticks very well.
If at first you don’t succeed, try try again.
Or maybe come up with a better solution.
Forgot to take a picture of it, but it looks like they patched over the GoRaleigh square on the entrance sign to the new bus station. Now it just shows GoTriangle.
From what it sounds like, GoRaleigh will not be serving RUSBus, except for Route 9 and the R-Line stopping just outside Union Station… I hope I’m wrong.
So not even the R-Line will utilize the station? What a complete joke this entire project has become lmao
Completely agree. Just use damn Moore Square at this point and come back when something real is getting built here.
I think we knew this already. This is a GoTriangle station only. All local bus service aside from the two routes that already serve RUS will continue to Moore Square.
It’s for 300/305/DRX/CRX drivers to use the bathroom
That’s… dumb. Probably raising alarm too late, but any normal transit agency would realize there is a decent number of passengers changing between GoRaleigh and GoTriangle. GoTriangle wants to get away from the “riff-raff” at Moore Square, okay. But somebody needs to realize people are changing between agencies and, from what the plans seem to be, people will either need to walk or wait for an extra bus to make the connection between Moore Square and RUSBus. At least have maybe a few more routes run between the two stations, and not just Routes 9 and 100. I’m not expecting GoRaleigh buses to actually go into the station (which would make sense removing the GoRaleigh square on the sign), but it would help if they had buses pass close by and stop.
Thing that bugs me is it sounds like GoTriangle (pointing it out again, a Durham-based agency) is not committed to having a seamless connection with GoRaleigh routes. It feels like a big step back to the “good old days” of CAT and Triangle Transit when one needed separate tickets for each agency, and sometimes they stopped at different stops.
I’m lucky in that the route I take doesn’t require me to go to Moore Square and change there, I can just get off on Hillsborough Street and do it there. People who do rely on Moore Square to change buses, they’re going to have a hard time.
