What the _____ are these huge concrete boxes that were literally poured around street signs off Hargett?
Since they are saving the facade of the warehouse, they will have to support the walls from the outside. It’s likely these are temporary anchor points for the bracing structure. They couldn’t use the sidewalk or roadway because they would be much too weak.
When could we see a crane go.up
Not until next year.
I know they modified the number of floors from 30 to 37 a few weeks ago, but does anybody know if this changed the height? Or is it just shorter floors?
Is this one also 37? I thought it was The Creamery site that was getting 37.
Creamery bumped up to 36 and RUS to 37
RUSBus seems to be about 5M higher in elevation than the Creamery tower and will be a bit more prominent than just the additional floor.
I believe those are used to deter skateboards
I saw frames for additional concrete blocks like this down West St closer to the plaza.
Just drove by. They’re working on them now. Looks like they will pour them in the next couple days. They did something similar to hold up the Dillon facade when Kane built that.
Thank you for reigniting my stoke
Confirmed (from onsite workers) these are supports/anchors for the walls. Seems they’re only preserving the Hargett/West and West/RUS Plaza corners.
West St side of Hargett/West corner.
Fresh concrete on West down at the RUS plaza corner.

Makes sense. There’s no way that they could berm the western/rail side part of the shell being that close to the tracks.
I’m excited to see how they pull off the Union Station sign in the render. Could be a super cool touch if done right. Also knowing Raleigh, I’m prepared to be let down.
The approved ASR has a height of 435 feet from the first floor to the top of the rooftop screen covering the elevator penthouse and upper roofs.
At 435ft to the top of the crown… this will be the 2nd tallest building in Raleigh!!!
…by about 4 feet
Until The Creamery is completed.

Didn’t they say the creamery will top out at 432 feet tall?
