It won’t be next year. Next year is basically when they finalize plans. They plan for these to open in 2028 or so. I can imagine 2024 or 2025 construction start
actually, July 2025 is a hard deadline for the project since this project is heavily funded by a federal grant. Within the contract of the grant, the project must be complete by July 2025 or funding will be pulled. (and if that happens it will give Raleigh a bad rep with the fed and will hurt our odds of receiving more grants in the future so I doubt the city will allow that to happen) Now, this is only for the public portion of the project which includes the bus station, parking garage, first floor retail, and the affordable housing units. The private portion which includes some residential units and the hotel doesn’t technically have to be finished at the same time which is why it is currently projected to be complete in 2026

Really no point in continuously requesting construction pictures, at least on this particular development. Nothing visibly noteworthy will happen here for another year if not more.

They’ve definitely started some demolition. I will have to go back to pictures to see exactly but it looks like the awning has been removed.
