Amphitheater roof looks so much worse from this angle. Went from an elegant sweeping piece to a little welded-on Dutch bonnet

Come on now, this is Raleigh we’re talking about. It was always going to be value-engineered and downgraded lmao

Lest we forget what we’re working with right now.
The new amphitheater is a huge improvement.

I didn’t say they shouldn’t keep going I just wanted to complain about the roof changing from a sail to a silly little hat.

This is what happens in the design and construction world. It happens everywhere, both public and private. Rest assured that it’s not a Raleigh thing.

Zoomed in, the roofline doesn’t look all that different. It’s was like a bonnet in that previous rendering too.
I’m going with Flying Nun.

I’m just curious as to why they felt the need to include a train and have it not be the trains that actually pass through there

Well before Nov. 2024, the Amtrak trains that resemble the one in the rendering were scheduled to be in service by 2028.

These are the new Acela trains, and barring a political miracle, these will not go anywhere south of DC for a very, very long time.

Miracle is an understatement!

Isn’t that what NCSU alumni make as a gesture during games? I have no horse in the race, I didn’t go to college here. It seems fairly cliche “rock on” kind of a gesture so I automatically don’t like it, but if there’s a link to NC State, I suspect a lot of locals will want to keep it.
