Red Hat Amphitheater and Outdoor Music

Yeah, it was an aggressive timeline and I presume for a reason to support the narrative that we needed city council approval quickly and any delays for studies/etc would push out the construction.

Well…it happened anyway. :joy:

Even if they started “on time”, I still think that it would have been late.

Better get moving or it’s going to be a few more years on that build out

Really going to be a shame to lose this view… but glad we’re keeping RHA.

Some progress

Looks pretty much done to me. Put the band on the dirt hill and the crowd in the gravel lot.

And this project is supposed to be done when? They better get moving on it!

We went to see Hauser on Friday night. Then heard the re-verb of 38 Special with Kansas.
I just have to say I am loving the music line up for this year.

Not sure what the hold up is on the new venue but carry on with the music in the meantime…

2026 looking to be a BIG CRANES year for Raleigh. Creamery will have to be the biggest crane in the sky since 2007 when PNC Tower was being built :eyes:

Plus the New Bern BRT line is starting construction this fall (segment 1, downtown)

If they’re going to the 36 floors (if I remember correctly) they’ll likely have to extend the crane mid-construction. It won’t start at the full height.

I expect there will be a crane or 2 for RedHat as well, right? Maybe not fixed?

Looking forward to this new amphitheater

Went to a show at Koka Booth Friday, probably my 10th event there… nice venue but disappointing programing / organization. My buddy was the sound guy for one of the touring bands. He said it was a shit show. He waited several hours for them to get power to the stage. Apparently there is no permanent power on the Koka Booth stage, lol. Also, really dislike the lawn chair games… “we both have a GA ticket, but I put my chair here, so you can’t stand in front of me.” Make General Admission General Again, barring handicap sections.

Here’s to hoping the new red hat will be a dream experience for both the listener and the artists.

I like it!!!

If someone went to a show and wanted to sit and not have a single soul stand in front of them … I’d simply tell them “make me move, then” and watch as they do N O T H I N G

They should buy a front row seat.

It’s always interesting how many people buy a single event ticket, GA or otherwise, and then proceed to treat the entire venue like manifest destiny.

I went to what may very well be my last concert at Red Hat 1.0 last night. Great show, and we ALWAYS love to see the Ladies. As their norm, they mentioned the Shimmer Wall multiple times and even did an improvised riff on it. They mentioned the new Red Hat across the street. They also did a shout out to 321 Coffee and CharGrill on Hilllsborough. They are always a lot of fun to see in person. Another personal highlight was finally getting to see Fastball live. Sugar Ray was just a pleasant bonus, unfortunately, I can no longer rock the frosted tips . Looking forward to seeing BNL again in Red Hat 2.0 across the street. #Xennial :accordion: :banjo: :guitar:
