Every time I bike by there I think about how great a brewery would be.
the new imaps has a layer for development plans…

anyone seen any info on “Hargett Cottages”? ASR-0017-2021 doesn’t seem to be on the city’s website?
Thank you for your service
did you happen to attend this? I missed it but reached out for a summary or slides. I haven’t heard back yet.
I did! I was the only one there at the start, then two others joined in late. They didn’t share a lot more info than what is posted online. Just talked about how it is currently zoned and what they want to change it to. No potential designs or plan exist for the building at this point
Have not seen anything on the Hargett Cottages. It looks like a request to remove the church and build 26 units in a “cottage courts”. I’m no expert, though in the request it says administrative review, so pretty early in the process?
Here’s some information about Cottage Courts
Thanks for sharing this update. The iMaps feature is really interesting.
Following up on the new iMaps feature, they are showing “DLSC - Edenton Court Subdivision” on Tarboro to have 23 townhouse units. https://cityofraleigh0drupal.blob.core.usgovcloudapi.net/drupal-prod/COR15/SUB-0025-2021.pdf
According to this plan they will have 23 townhomes, some with parking, mostly 3BR with maximum height of 50’.
It was approved 9/22, according to the iMaps.
A couple of questions: how can you tell how affordable housing is incorporated, if at all? How can you tell about the timeline? What does DSLC mean?
Prices just got posted on the townhomes East of SunnyBrooke and North of Poole Rd.

Wondering if ~$300,000 townhome in that area will sell. Cheapest new home ITB, but people in the area will most likely see it as very expensive for a townhome there.
My prediction: Will be SOLD OUT in less than 12 months. Current residents in the area are not the prospective buyers.
If you only have $300,000 in your budget, then this is your only option ITB. So, I agree with your prediction.
I won’t be shocked if the last of their units end up selling for $350K+ before they complete the project.
Actually I was surprised they were priced that low. The Montage homes/townhomes that are being build just up the road are starting in the $300,000s. Looks like they are going to start selling them soon as well.
We were laughing about street names on Centennial Campus. These are equally atrocious, if not worse, lol.
I agree with the others that this will easily sell. I just want to talk to the person who designed these things. Can anyone tell me how one is supposed to use those “lofts” on the second floor?
My reaction too, what a waste of space. I am old enough to remember when they still used the word"hall." (edited for typos since I can not type properly on my phone.)
I had the same thought. Why not just make all the bedrooms and bathrooms bigger? Or a hidden storage space would be appreciated.
Probably a home office/flex space. Desk against one wall, small sofa against or bookshelves against another. No windows though!
Land for sale along New Bern Ave that is currently being rezoned. Anyone want to go halfies? lol

I got about $4,000 I can chip in. What we building there?
Count me in for another 4k. Can build half of a half bath. Will shake up the real estate scene.
