Show Off Things From Other Cities

St Pete from the Pier at night. Every time I come down here I marvel at this development.

I wonder what we can eventually make “our spot” in the future. Hopefully the Artery and / or RUS park :sunglasses:

Some really nice architecture (and decent parking lot screening) at the Water Street Tampa development. Really elevates downtown Tampa from bleh with some water to actually pretty cool.
The river walk and water taxi are pretty cool too.

Looks like they have high-rise condos, too.
:disappointed:

Yes. Such a huge high rise condo market down here.

Right now in St Pete all of the high rises under construction are residential. A 35 story apartment, a 42 story condo and two other 30+ story condos.

I have no clue of the dynamics but there’s got to be more of a market for high rise condo living than Raleigh gets credit for.

Coastal Florida has a huge condo market as many, many buyers want to be near the coasts. As downtown continues to mature, and the overall downtown living experience continues to improve, the demand for more high rise condos will increase.

somebody posted this on twitter — a building in austin with a massive parking pedestal. so now we know it’s not just raleigh that has a penchant for heinous parking pedestals LOL.

Designed by Duda Paine in Durham.

It looks like an extruded Dillon tower.

You’d get seasick from driving up to park on 13. Unless maybe you’re a NASCAR driver.

No see… You had to go to the Ritz to get the true Alamo experience. Unfortunately that one closed.

Apparently the 3-year-behind-schedule East End Connector in Durham is slowly moving along with the demolition of the railroad bridge finally happening. Looking for a summer opening…

Summer opening…it’s delayed again lol.

Once it finally opens hopefully we can properly commission a study on transforming Durham Freeway into a boulevard. Damn railroads screwed this project so bad. Could’ve been done 2 years ago.

Speaking of…we’re really trying to get some momentum behind this. If anyone has any brainstorm ideas getting this into the minds of leaders let me know!

Durham has it’s own forum???

Oh goodness. I just time traveled back to HTML 1.0.
Let me know if they want an upgrade to something like what Leo has put together.

hahaha yeah I had the same reaction about a year ago when I stumbled on it. It’s not got much new discussion or functionality, but it does occasionally have some cool renderings or info about some building going up in DT Durham.

Don’t remember exactly but they started construction around that in maybe 2016? Must be the longest schedule to build a 3 miles of freeway.
