My wife dragged me into the Gucci store in Florence, Italy a couple days ago.

Look! It’s a densely populated and engaging city without high-rises.

Well sure but I like high rises

Seriously, though, love a good walkable mid-rise city/neighborhood. DC is pretty great.

These are the world’s worst photos, but I was in Salem, OR and their Riverfront City Park made me think of the future Devereux Meadows park. They had a great pedestrian bridge connecting the paths at the park to greenways across the river and a nice amphitheater. It seemed as though the space was a similar shape and size to what we have going on (minus the Willamette River, of course).

This Westin on the beach in Barcelona reminds me so much of the one in Brier Creek.

Walking around Chicago today, this building cut my eye several times, so I grabbed a shot to share. It may appear to just be a box of glass building, but it has some really cool angles. Definitely not your average office building. Would love to see some creativity like this on the N&O block, or anywhere DTR for that matter.

I believe that’s the tallest building in the world designed by a woman? Or at least it was when I took the architecture boat tour a few years ago.

I like how Atlanta has a real skyline. Actually 3 (2 visible from here). Though we did notice Durham has a bit of skyline now, flying into RDU last night.

Well, they do have a metro over 6M, so that makes sense.

At one time it was the tallest. It was surpassed by the Petronis Towers. And now the Burg Khalifa is the tallest.

You are speaking of the Sears, Willis whatever it is called now. That picture is of a rather new build on Chicago. Think it is primarily residential.

Oh yeah, I see the curves in it now. Plus, it is kind of greenish where the Willis is black.
