Billionaire Wendell Murphy (hog farmer) has donated a lot of money to NC State.
Nice. I live in Back Bay near BUšš½
My daughter is transferring to Berklee College of Music in January.
Nice, I pass by their campus every now and then when I go to Trader Joeās downtown.

Dssolvr coming to Durham at the bottom of the new Atlas apartments. Iām super envious but Iād be even moreso if New Anthem wasnt on its way to Raleigh. Durham is mad cool and I hate it.
Well we do have Burial. They have Hi-Wire and Dssolvr. Gradually every Asheville brewery will pick somewhere down here to have an outpost.
Itās one of the nice things about this area that you can go to both Raleigh and Durham.
Thank you for bringing me down to Earth. And thank you sweet, sweet Burial for coming to Raleigh.
Weāre not gonna losing the canes.
Crazy how false this is
I meant weāre not gotta correct that.
CharlottesGotALot about to have about 56 acres on the market in their downtown. Likely headed toward a new football stadium but also this possibility for full build out⦠looks like they are calling it the āIron Districtā - which Iām sure this forum will treat this info very maturely.
Look at those big, beautiful freeways whisking people in and out of those sky scrappers and stadiums!
Truly though, that is a heck of chunk of land to come open for development so close to the city center.
NC state government better not be involved in funding for the stadium unless they have a spare 2 billion for a downtown hockey arena for Raleigh. The ONLY team in North Carolina with a Championship win.
Well Charlotteās never had an original idea in their lives, so that all checks out.
Those big bunch of copycat asshats! Iām glad I donāt live there, because Raleigh is so much cooler and more original.
Stopped by Baltimore last weekend to ride this adorably tiny train in a public park:
Itās a ālive steamā operation, with a track gauge of a mere 7.5". Passengers sit atop the trains, one in front of the another, and the trains are genuinely steam-powered (via propane). So itās much sillier than the two-abreast, sit-inside, gas-powered operation at Pullen Park (with a 2-foot gauge).
I bring this up because apparently, someone outside Apex has a two-mile long live steam setup in his backyard, and has already sold the site for (future) commercial development. Who can swoop in and save the track to move elsewhere, and where should that be?
Those want to bes. How dare them. Where is their āwild west warehouse districtā?? huh huh.
So sad for all the hippies and wooks that moved to Asheville to couch-surf and busk in the streets.
Little tongue in cheek there, but for real⦠Ashevilleās very special arts and music scene will likely get displaced to other nearby towns.
