How much of this is rail/streetcar and how much is bus?

That’s just all heavy rail trains. Wroclaw also has several lines of street cars and busses.

That’s a lot of heavy rail! I’ve been to Krakow, but I haven’t been to Wroclaw. I remember there being a lot of streetcars/trams and buses, but I don’t recall a significant heavy rail system.

Someone put entirely too much time into this, but I did get a laugh and figured I’d share

There are way too many funny things that I can say about this, but I’ll just let people come up with their own.

You can see the F1 construction from your window. There’re rumors it has been such a major disruption to the Vegas experience, that this may be the only year this happens. With the cheapest ticket I could find being $2k and that didn’t include flights and hotel, I won’t be attend this obviously. But it would be cool to see cars flying 200+mph up and down Las Vegas Blvd with the palm trees and lights!

I really doubt they’re putting that much money into the infrastructure development to only host 1 year. Most of the disruption is the foundational development that wouldn’t come in subsequent years.

Yeah, the strip was a little more chaotic than normal and they cut down all the trees in front of the fountains. I asked some locals and they said it has generally been a headache and ready for it to be over.

is that not reflective of raleighs people?

I got a chance to ride these unique low-floor city trams in Dresden, Germany. Light rail is expensive but trams are not as much. Maybe these BRT lines can eventually be replaced with trams. Unlike Dresden, we will have these on dedicated tram/brt lanes for the most part too.

I’ve ridden these in a few different European cities/countries and agree that this should be considered as a viable option to BRT.

People sometimes complain about having an Appearance commission, but if they can achieve this, holy cow. Here is the upcoming Waffle House in Asheville’s Biltmore village opening in Spring of 2024. I can’t wait to eat in here with dirty shoes leaving the bike park heading home. I almost feel like this is a joke, but it was presented two days ago during the Biltmore Historic Resources Commission in Asheville.

Just read the description of the interior :
“The Biltmore Waffle Hose dining room features tables of oak covered to give an authentic diner effect while still keeping it ultra fancy. Bamboo railings, and luminous oak chandeliers under a sweeping pressed-mahogany laid out in squares resembling waffles. With every wood feature boasting a handsome finish resembling a waffle. A baby grand player piano sits in the corner, churning out disembodied tunes you might hear at a fanciful gala, while a gold-leaf mantled fireplace forms the base of a giant stone waffle designed chimney. And while the food is sourced and not even remotely prepared like other Waffle Houses. The menu will offer Chiken and waffles, and other wallflower house fare with a twist. The staff will maintain a strict dress code of slacks and a yellow bow-tie. Its diner food meets forced-fanciful and it won’t be cheap. Chicken & waffles, and Filet Tips with jalapeño grits will run $29.95 a pop and beer, wine and liquor will be offered at premium prices.”

It’s like a North Korean palace - I wonder if they’re mocking the appearance commission or making it specifically to go viral.

To visit my SO I have to fly to Berlin and then take a bus to city center Wroclaw. Here is the bus station:

Wroclavia is a modern shopping and office center integrated with the Polbus-PKS bus station, which was built at ul. Dry.

There are approximately 200 shops, restaurants, cafes and service points, as well as an IMAX cinema, a children’s playroom and a fitness club.

It’s much nicer than Crabtree Valley Mall or Southpoint. It’s on another class of shopping malls and it takes very little space in the city center. Imagine if we had something like this near on or near a train/bus station.

Is this from the onion? :onion:

I’m of two minds about this. On the one hand, it’s nice to see the mixed use of the bus station having destination shopping. On the other hand, a mall like this in DT Raleigh would suck all the air out of downtown by consolidating all retail in one place instead of distributing it throughout the city center.
There is something similar to this in Krakow where the Galeria Mall is connectedt to the rail station just outside of the (no cars) old town.

I promise you that whoever made these pictures did it in satire. This is 100% not happening.

We’re already too easily fooled by even the most obvious of AI renders lmao
