Look…. a city is either growing, or it’s not. Raleigh is growing. The “trajectory” of said growth is just that - growth; more people, more demand for living space, more demand for food, entertainment, services, etc. Either development and infrastructure grows with it… or against it.
Raleigh is among the largest, but isn’t the largest. Neither Columbus, OH, nor Nashville have a light rail system. While its MSA is smaller, Louisville also lacks a light rail. In fact, all 3 of these cities lack an intercity rail system. At least Raleigh has that.
To make matters worse, Columbus also razed their beautiful and highly ornamented historic station decades ago.
They have signed a lease for that 10th floor restaurant space steak and seafood place out of Denver called Guard and Grace and their other location in Houston has something called the Millionaire Fajitas. It is $500 but cooked at your table by a chef and feeds 4. I sure @GucciLittlePig will be coming down to have this and I just want to be one of the 4. https://www.guardandgrace.com/houston-menu
You can come watch me eat all 4 servings.

We’ll fly up for that dinner (if Guccis are paying).

The real question is if @GucciLittlePig will be chauffeuring the Raleigh guests to Charlotte in his luxury sedan which he loves to drive!
As long as I can find a route completely devoid of bike lanes, sharrows, or sidewalks with plenty of pedestrians to hit while driving 20 over the limit. Otherwise, train…. there’s always a chance they’ll hit at least one person!
Austin following in the Cracker Barrel wake of disaster…
Some people see everything as woke. I do agree about the math textbook cover tho. That’s spot on.
They could have a gotten a better result with $100 bucks and a fiverr account…
where does one book this large luxury sedan tour of Raleigh? @GucciLittlePig I will be back up in Raleigh from the Queen City at the end of the month. I am afraid to park at North Hills as I don’t want to get booted. And your grid pattern downtown confuses me as I prefer the spaghetti on the walls type of road structure that Charlotte has where Queens Road intersects with itself 3 times.
Well look at what the city of Anaheim is exploring. They are building a gondola system. I sure hope Raleigh seriously looks at this as a connection from Dix Park to downtown. I think it would be people mover and a tourist attraction.
Anaheim is already a tourist destination. They have this little amusement park…I can’t quiet put my finger on that name through. ![]()
Knotts Berry Farm?
Seiously, everytime gondolas gets mentioned I think we are getting a canal.
Wow this is the same picture @svp posted a couple of weeks ago from the State of DTR.

I get that but also if you see they want it to connect to their convention center. I just think it could be an attraction for Raleigh and solve a problem on connection between Dix Park and downtown. Alas ,people could even commute on it from the Weld to downtown. Raleigh needs to think big and you have enough of those big acorns already!
I’ve attended a convention at that convention center. It’s right next to that unnamed theme park whose name keeps escaping me.
When I was in the area, there was always some sort on noise and din coming from that park. I called it dinny-land.
We literally just got a full set of nuts. Let that settle in for a moment sir!
