Who needs drugs when that’s your average day in the city experience?
Very cool looking!

It’s like that connector tunnel in the Detroit Airport with the trippy lights and music.
Wow! Literally thought it was photoshopped in at first, very cool.
Bless their hearts!
I thought this interesting:
Apparently Wilmington is getting a new half of downtown, including an outdoor live music venue, a waterfront park, and tons of housing.
I am confused. How do they construct these buildings with out the parking deck plinths? Is this some new, radical building technique?
Lol. There’s actually a bunch of parking built into this and pretty decently disguised
The scale of this is something that would fit nicely into The Creamery block on Glenwood.
That’s either a waste of steps, or a water hazard (says a jealous guy with a city with no water features)
Pretty dangerous water slide. The pool at the end is not nearly big enough.
The designer used to work at Action Park!
I drove by this property the other day here in Columbus and had to look twice. The body of water didn’t look natural as it was sunk down a bit in a “valley”, but across the water were a couple of what looked like concrete elevator shafts you’d see in construction for apartments, etc. Where the water sat definitely looked like it might have been a quarry. So I was intrigued and asked my dad and he came across the link below. I know this isn’t unusual for re-purposing quarry land, but what a great example of what we could do with some of the local quarrys as they’re nearing end-of-life and maybe reduce the noise of the RDU quarry mess. “Look, people, you like parks and well thought through developments. How about well thought through land re-use? Support land re-use and the quarry!” LOL
i know raleigh made a land fill into a park. sparks, nv (reno) reversed and made a old nasty pit mine into a 180 foot deep lake with a 2 mile circumfrence right beside an outlet mall and casino and motel.
it has a walking jogging trail, sand volleyball courts, and a swimming beach in summer. also a boat launch for sail boats and othe rsmall craft. townhomes back up to the trail on one side next to a small mixed use building. karate studio, etc.
nice. interactive murals
Last Saturday was the 10th annual BlockWork in Salisbury, NC. It’s an event where volunteers fix up the exteriors of homes along a predetermined block in the city, funded in part by the City of Salisbury and many donors and grants. This year they worked on the 200 block of S. Clay St.
I think this is a super cool idea, especially for helping residents revitalize neighborhoods that haven’t seen a lot of love in recent times. Think it could work in Raleigh?
