Those townhomes have individual elevators and go up into the $1.1m’s
Crazy price But they’re going to have a great view right over the park. The people who got in for 800k can flip theirs and make a couple hundred k.
I love that this is coming to downtown Cary but just crazy pricing… Supply and demand. Making my home value go through the roof in Cary
Yes. My house has increased in value 250% since I bought it. Most of that in the last two reevaluations. But I live 2 miles from downtown Cary.
We run by this area weekly and stopped by these townhomes in particular. They look very nice up close and we were wondering how much they were. Not planning on moving to a townhome, but I was guessing about the 800k range. For 600 they’d make sense, 800 seems steep, but if people are paying, they’re priced right.
People will eat them up probably! If I’m spending that much I’m overlooking the city lol
If I’m spending that much I want an acre, a privacy fence, and a butler! Lol
But they will be overlooking what just might me one of the best city parks in the country when it is completed in a few years.
Durham’s new Foodhall. I like it I was there the other day. Those Shrimp Tacos are

Great article from TBJ on the development of Cary, especially Downtown, Fenton, and Carolina Yards/CTC:
Going forward I think we’re approaching the days of this being the Raleigh-Durham-Cary-Chapel Hill metro instead of just Raleigh Durham chapel hill in terms of popular culture etc.
Hopefully that’ll be the next CSA definition instead of Raleigh Cary and Durham Chapel hill. Makes no sense to separate us into two areas
Yeah, they were one MSA until a split in 2003. Supposedly they are on the docket for recombination in 2023, in a move that will catapult the Triangle’s visibility.
Not quite a “show-off”, rather the worst cities from this guy’s perspective. Possible trigger warning to some.
I spent most of my life (all of it minus the last 8 in NC) in Orlando/Central Florida and I can’t defend it’s position on his list. Actually, I might even chime in and suggest he didn’t give enough weight to the weather (humidity and heat).
While I’m not arguing with his list, I would like to see more of the data points that lead to his decisions. I do agree that you should consider all of the perspectives like arts, pockets of fun surrounding cities, shopping, etc but I he never really went into the actual data.
Given @atl_transplant recently went through an evaluation of destinations I wonder if your process was similar and if you considered any of these cities? lol
I actually was born in Springfield, MA which is 20 minutes from Hartford, CT and would have to say it’s a pretty sad place. I don’t think it’s bad enough to be that high on this list and honestly think this list should be full of Midwestern cities.
Also my parents just relocated to the Tampa area so naturally I considered Orlando before deciding my heart was set on Raleigh. Orlando surprisingly has a great downtown area that is pretty vibrant and doesn’t feel like you’re just stuck in DisneyWorld.
I was grew up in the suburbs of Albany and spent 9 years in Worcester. There’s a reason I moved here and never looked back…
I’d probably slot Springfield on this list over Hartford. For a city with so much history it’s sad to have seen it go completely down the tube. I’d never go back if it wasn’t for a lot of my family still being there.
I saw Coldplay once in Hartford a long time ago (don’t judge me lol) and stopped for lunch downtown there another time. I thought it was fine, but not anything amazing. Springfield I think has a bad reputation, and I’ve never done more than drive through on the Pike. But Worcester is just gross. I’m surprised for how cool Boston can be, that the rest of the state hasn’t caught up. That’s something that really drew me to Raleigh: the abundance of interesting and readily visitable cities nearby.
I grew up in a small town in CT located in between Springfield and Hartford. Moved to Raleigh 17 years ago and I’ll never look back. That area has little to offer.
I spent a few elementary school years in Windsor, which was actually a pretty nice place
I’d say Worcester is 10 times better than Springfield! But yes it’s a shame because Boston is an amazing city. Just impossible to navigate.
