Show Off Things From Other Cities

Seems like they’re trying to take it to the extreme here lol
I love Downtown “Uptown” whatever the hell they call it now, but I couldn’t imagine being able to truly function car-less there. Wonder how the place will do. Hopefully it does well so it’s another option on the table.

This apartment is probably coming live a bit early. But give it 10-15 years and a lot of city dwellers won’t be owning cars. Instead we’ll be paying a monthly service to receive a certain amount of rides/mileage from self driving vehicles.

It won’t do well at all until we have light rail or commuter rail…

Here’s an idea…connect those employment centers with transit that allows them to become even more robust in both their employment and housing options.

I’ll see them in court. LOL
Seriously, this is absurd. A good lawyer can argue some sort of hardship or disability and would likely tie them up in litigation if they wanted to. What a joke.

Of course they’d win and get to stay till the end of their lease, and then the management would just opt to not renew the lease of the car owner for some other reason than owning private property. Really this is NOT the way to do things, but good luck Charlotte.

Hasn’t changed a bit in 8 years!

Interestingly enough, I was there in 2013.

I don’t have any pictures but downtown Asheville was very busy tonight. I didn’t see any vacant store fronts on or near Main Street. It was busier than Glenwood South at night.

I’m in Denver this weekend and this street.

The Raleigh Fire Department’s nose itches whenever they hear about a street like that.

Larimer Street is always very festive, those lights also stay up year round too. Love Denver.

Then, they would get absolutely apoplectic with the Pink Balls (Les Boules Roses) - Gay Village Gai Montréal running down a kilometer stretch of Rue Ste-Catherine Est.

I’m fairly familiar with that street, but never saw it like that. That’s awesome!

Hubs and I missed it by a few weeks when up in Canada for a wedding a few years back. However, I did get to see Toronto from a different perspective atop CN Tower/La Tour CN.

No I don’t think so, thank you.

It was a bit breezy that day. Wind speeds were about 20-50 kph. And, it was constantly whistling through that deck grating.

Even though we were 1160 feet up, everything was down and no real depth perception. You just concentrated on your rigging and where your boots were.

The real white knuckle aspect was leaning forwards in the harness, and going hands-free from the line.

This looks like pedestrian-only traffic so I don’t believe this would be an issue in Raleigh. Similar to City Market’s lights. We just need more development like City Market, The Hollow and the Woonerf proposed at The Creamery redevelopment.

That is pretty spectacular though. An attraction in itself.
