I can’t remember, will this hotel have underground parking? If so how many floors? I always get frustrated watching the excavations and building back up to street level before they truly start to “grow”.

I believe this is all above-ground parking, which would make it a “grower”, albeit not a “show-er”
PS looking closer at the plans closer it is all underground parking. Too quick to get the joke off bc I am 8 years old.

Adding this here because I can’t find the other old thread. There was a planned hotel for this lot. Used to be a wall breaking up both parking lots that has now been removed. Anyone have any new info on this project? It’s right next to the Omni lot.

I’ll just add that I stopped taking pictures and posting them here for a pretty similar reason.
I think this forum is a bit too quick to jump down the throat of others for having an idea. Even if you don’t agree with it, you don’t have to disrespect them while doing it.

At the risk of appearing to jump down your throat, I’d like to respectfully disagree. I feel like overall people here are pretty civil to each other and have fun even when having a different point of view. I would say the exception to this is a couple of trolls who periodically appear on this existing community. They either criticize everything posted or tell everyone here how to exist and throw tantrums when people don’t conform.
Not everyone is going to get along all the time. But I think Leo does a great job here letting everyone have a voice who wants to, while maintaining a level of decorum and comradery. I’d encourage people to come to a couple of the meetups and put some names with faces, see that we’re all just people who care about our city, and maybe make a few new friends.

I would like some photos. I would say that if I still lived in Raleigh but even more so now that I do not. I loved being able to contribute periodic photos both terrestrial and from above when I lived downtown.
At the same time, you should do what you want. If you don’t feel comfortable putting yourself out there with photos or comments, that’s unfortunate and for what it’s worth, I’m sorry, but you do you. Your contributions both past and potentially future are valuable, appreciated and encouraged as far as I’m concerned.
That’s my 2 cents.

Agree. I use the mute filter, that has helped a little. Maybe that could improve your experience incrementally the way it did mine. Unfortunately, you have to deal with stuff here on DTR the way you do everywhere online these days. It’s definitely nowhere near as overt in this community, but for people who can spot it, it’s easy to see. With you.

For the omni I walk by a lot and am excited for it, I’ve always hated that massive parking lot and given that I live nearby I am happy a big project is rolling over here. the gf and I are gonna have a staycation there when it opens

I’ve posted once or twice on the Raleigh sub the most innoccuous-seeming weather related posts only to have a gang of people completely go ape shit about how it was the world’s shittiest post and I must be a complete idiot. There are people on Reddit who must have very unhappy lives and just wait around to crap on other people. So I don’t post there any more lol.
