They are shown as a sponsor of Canes on Lenovo Center message boards.
I donāt wear the stuff but I definitely know who it is/what they areā¦a rare misstep for Jake
Ok so yes, douchebag clothes: confirmed.
(EDIT for the softees: Iām just being crass; itās ok to like golf and wear golf clothes, I donāt actually have an issue with you nor think youāre a douche
)
Classic douchebag comment!!! ![]()
Arguably one of Raleighās most successful companies, and definitely the most successful clothing company to come out of Raleigh. Itās polo shirts and khakis, Iām wearing a pair of their pants right now. Not only were most players at the Masters wearing them, but they also have an official line with the Masters.
This is a big win for notoriety; people will visit the hotel just to see this store.
LOL I had the exact same reaction. I googled it before asking who the hell is Peter Millar (and why canāt he spell Miller right?), and itās golf clothes. I mean great, this area attracts golf tourists, and some may stay at the Omni. Butā¦yeah just seems like a random pairing with a coffee shop.
I shouldāve read the rest of the comments before replying. Jake, apparently weāre the uncool minority that doesnāt follow golf fashion trends. Iād rather watch my TV being off than watch someone play golf, so I guess itās understandable. Regardless, Iām happy for anything that can bring more people downtown, especially this end of Fayetteville St, so itās a win for DTR.
Same hear. I have heard of Peter Millar and was wondering why they are now doing a coffee shop. But I had no idea there was a Raleigh connection. Golf is boring AF to me and I would rather watch grass grow, but If it brings people (even if mostly Golf Bros) downtown to Fayetteville St. in particular,Iām all for it.
Yeah I mean I definitely donāt watch nor give a FFFFF about golf and genuinely did not know what this brand was until today - but Iām mostly speaking in jest; this coffee shop CERTAINLY wonāt be somewhere I care to go, but if it brings more visitors (even the douchebag kind), hey - Iām all for it! lmao
Still not a GUCCI STORE THOUGH!!! ![]()
Yeah absolutely, and Iām also just being silly. Iām not here to judge peopleās interests.
Besides, all I know about golf fashion I learned from Happy Gilmore.

I would also prefer a Gucci store. Importing my top hats is a pain.
I mostly wear athleisure stuff or streetwear/ādesigner punkā artsy fartsy stuff if Iām trying to look cool and Iām 100% positive the golf crowd would take one look at me and view ME as the douche. Different strokes!
Is that a golf pun?! ![]()

You got it!!! A round of golf clap
for you!
Hey that is pretty cool and I 100% agree with you. Sorry to hurt some feelies yāall I legit had zero idea about this brand as I do not wear clothes like this ever in my life SORRY!!! ![]()
I dont think you should justify classifying a group because you think they would classify you. Great people come in all sorts of clothing.
Why the harsh comment? I was only vaguely aware that it was a clothing brand before now.
Some folks feel the need to make you feel inferior because you donāt know something they do.

I basically wear solid color Goodfellow t-shirts from Target and khaki shorts from Costco. Call me a slob; I couldnāt care less about fancy clothing brands. I spend my money on eyeglasses so that I can see, and good walking shoes so that my knees stay healthy. ![]()
The Raleigh link is not well-known or really something Iāve ever seen them advertise on - I only knew they were from here b/c my brother briefly dated a girl who worked there years and years agoā¦
Although this makes me think - we need to get them to open a flagship store downtown! Hopefully this coffee shop thing (which I agree, makes 0 sense) is a first step towards that
I think itās ridiculous not everyone knows the best knot for tying a fender to a boat railing. (Round turn and two half hitches for anyone wondering).
