NCDOT just posted an alert on their website with regards to the Peace/Capital interchange:
Weekend work on the Capital Boulevard bridges project will require closure of the southbound lanes from Johnson Street to the end of the project from 9 p.m. on Friday through 6 a.m. on Monday.
This closure will allow the contractor to remove the existing concrete in the roadway and replace it with asphalt.
Drivers will be detoured from southbound Capital Boulevard onto Johnson Street, then south onto Harrington Street to Jones Street.
A minor traffic shift, moving drivers to the newly constructed outside lanes of Capital Boulevard, will occur between Tuesday at 9 p.m. and Wednesday at 6 a.m. This shift will allow the contractor to begin construction of the grass median.
EDIT: Taking longer than expected and I have plans that don’t include waiting for them to unload the OBT. Also, I believe the pad pictured above is for this crane to move back and forth on the tracks currently still on the truck beds.
