It’s planned to be a “temporary” green space… I think that’s what someone else mentioned a while back. Someone correct me if I’m wrong.

Correct - it is going to be left as open space for the foreseeable future.

You can really see the platform for a structure of some kind arising in the north west quadrant of the block.

At the next meetup, we should all sketch what we think it will look like in the end and see who gets it closest to being right.

I’m still trying to figure out where the supposed third crane will go. I’m guessing in the SE corner of the block, but don’t see anything obvious about the footing for another crane base at this time.

I love it. Now just fill all the open space with gravel and we will truly have a symbolic building.

Looks like a below-grade parking level.

I really wish they would just sell this. Someone would develop it.

Hahaha you beat me to it.

Also some other construction activity over here:

That two tone lawn really complements the two tone sidewalk and two tone asphalt.

Better than a parking lot!

Yes but barely. The amount of “green space” (read: literally just grass) in the Capitol District is overkill in an already absolutely dead zone. This lot needs a mixed-use building- yesterday.

Noticed today that this house at Polk and Wilmington has been condemned.

I am so disappointed they didn’t put that new HHS building downtown on one of their blocks. That would have been huge.

The one they built on Blue Ridge Road is pretty huge… as is its parking deck :person_facepalming:
