Tempo by Hilton Hotel & Homewood Suites

Looks like trees and an SUV from this angle! :astonished:

Neat. I was driving but took some time to walk around to get pictures today. Saw some of those hips and hops going on. :rabbit2: Nice to see people out and about enjoying downtown!

I’m still hoping for another hotel on this block. Preferably a luxury or semi-luxury brand (like tempo).

As of this morning…

Any updates on the other side since the last picture or is the metal and concrete still exposed?

This has to be the slowest 13 story construction in our cities history. It looks more or less the same as it did when I walked by it every day for jury duty back in Feb.

Looks pretty much the same as the pics GucciLittlePig posted 4 days ago. (You can see it some of it in the bottom right of my pic). Brickwork is happening on this side and the north side of the hotel.

Scroll up and look at some of the posted pictures from February. There has been a lot done since then.

Seems like it’s been pretty slow considering it’s been 6 months

Maybe they should hire the construction crew from Capital Square. lol

Yep. There’s the VE on the brick. Stopped it at outside corners. Hopefully one day this side won’t be visible from the street

Am I the only person who noticed the different shades of white? Is this another design change, if so I like it?

I think we need more above ground power lines running down the street. Clearly, only having 12 lines is a distraction.

Hard to tell by those pictures but doesn’t look like a whole lot for 6 months.

This month marks the 2 year mark for when we started taking pictures for this jobsite. Construction fencing had been put up, demolition of the tire place had been complete and earth moving had begun. We are still several months from this being finished. To me, it just seems like 2 1/2 years of construction seems to be a long time for a 13 story hotel.

Maybe you heard of the Covid pandemic? Granted the project was really slow moving in those early months. It was commented frequently that it was slow back then. But to say it has been going slow the past six months doesn’t pass the eye test as evidenced by the photos.
