We got some exterior siding!!!
Damn! I was expecting fur.
still no fur. I’m waiting!
I am disappointed about the lack of fur.
I am also concerned about a black cladding, with no trees, in the South. I hope there is good wall insulation!
I can tell you that there are workers onsite pretty much 6 days a week, but progress has slowed considerably and our close has been pushed out to the Sept/Oct timeframe. No surprise but thought worth mentioning.
Anyone have a camper van for rent?
I feel like a lot of projects get really close and then progress slows to a crawl. Can’t figure out why that is. Bloc 83 flew up and so did the parking deck, and now for the last month it seems like they put up a couple windows every day and the deck has mostly stopped. Smoky Hollow just needs to finish the paneling and maybe some art on the deck. They started putting up brick on phase 2 over a month ago and the progress looks about the same now.
There has actually been a LOT of rain the past few weeks and I am sure this slows down any outside work tremendously.
I think a lot of that perception has to do with the complexity of work taking place and number of subcontractors involved. When a building is going vertical, it’s really just a few subcontractors working and there isn’t a ton of time devoted to looking at the nitty gritty details of the specifications and plans because there’s a lot of “copy + paste” going on. Once the shell is built or close to finished then there are electrical, plumbing, HVAC, low voltage, fire sprinkler, drywall, trim, etc. etc. subcontractors working on top of each other and waiting for city inspections and probably 3rd party engineered inspections in between scopes of work.
Yeah, and that all makes sense, but it’s still boring for me to watch on the webcams…
Yes… it does seem to drag… And I really wish we had more steel frame buildings going up (without parking decks) instead of concrete!
The white looks nice. I sure hope that it’s detailed so that it stays fresh looking, and that the material can keep its crisp & clean finish!
That’s what Karla and I were wondering yesterday. Maybe a bi-annual pressure washing. Hope they built that into the budget!
Hopefully that is one item the HOA board will keep in mind.
You need an HOA budget person? Lol
No thanks. I know somebody already.
