My dream for this area is over that top architect that put this building unique for every other building in the skyline. Separates apart from other cities.
Looks like a developer has bought the Marbles parcel!!
Post Road Group of Connecticut paid $10.35 million for the property at 220 E. Morgan St., according to a deed filed last week in Wake County. Little has been revealed about the development plans, but Post Road Group Managing Partner Kevin Davis said they are hoping to break ground in Q4 of this year.
Whoa! Thatās record time and probably VERY ambitious! Iād like to see them get through the cityās ASR process and permitting to break ground in Q4 '22. Good luck though! Iād love to see it happen!
Another fun quote
"Itās still very early on. We have very preliminary plans that are not in a position to share,ā Davis told TBJ . āThere will be some mixed-use but predominantly multifamily. Itās going to be a high rise, but weāre not sure the exact number of stories.ā
Thatās not very Raleigh of them. It should take at least 4 yearsā¦just look at Salisbury Square.
āIn 2020, the Smiths requested the property be rezoned to allow up to 20 stories of development and later upped that to 40 stories with a condition limiting height to just 30 stories (Raleigh zoning heights include 20 and 40 stories, but nothing in between). Gordon previously said they were looking to sell the property to a developer. Raleigh City Council approved the rezoning in April 2021.ā
This is a surprise. Thought it would be more of a rezone and hold. . Would definitely stretch the limits of the downtown skyline and activity. What a year this is potentially shaping up to be for downtown Raleigh.
My terrible sketch while walking attempt of the buildings to come.
RUSBUS appears to have that disease like the one in SanFran where the ground isnāt so good.
Nope, those are just ghost building waving back and forth in the wind. I heard that Casper is going to move into one of them.
EDIT: atl_transplant hope you know it was meant as joke
Really love the wavy architecture you designed, would be quite the architectural showstopper for DTRās skyline
My finger on a 6ā phone screen doesnāt make the best designer
Since I canāt walk and chew gum at the same time, Iām impressed that you can walk and draw.
On the for real tho. Iād love to see some wavy design in the Raleigh skyline vs our standard boxes & rectangles.
So, no rendering for this project yet? These guys just spent 19 million for an acre in the SoBro section of Nashville next to the Rescue Mission of all places. They have confirmed a residential high-rise. I canāt find out much about this company either.
This seems to be the only other project I can find they are doing. Does anyone have any other information about any other projects these guys (Post Road Group) have done?
There are other high-rises going in this area, so itās not really that much of a surprise, so hopefully the rescue mission will be moving before long, but 19 million was the surprise, but not anywhere near a record for an acre of land in Nashville.
I donāt have any more information but welcome to the community!
Only that they were going to mention the scope of the project by the end of the year. So thereās still 6+ months left to find out.
Thanks for the update and the welcome.
Trying to keep track of the new construction in Raleigh as well. I am a Mod on UP Nashville, and itās been a few years since I visited Raleigh. Hoping you guys get some long-awaited action here.
Welcome to the forum! Nashville is a great city with a ton of development activity. I always enjoy the opportunity to visit Music City.
