Well, then you have South Carolina. Let’s go 's
i have read that u. grant didnt free his last slaves unitl the the 13th amendment made him do it. did william peace do any local philanthropy other than the college? worthy endeavors for the time? did he have some loved children? many large slave holding farms in the south had new york investments funding the operations. i think the school should keep his namsake.
@dtraleigh Really great article today about Seaboard Station, breaking down the locations, progress, and plans. I’ve always had trouble putting this all together mentally. Thanks very much!

Thanks. I mainly did it for me cause I had the same problem. So I decided to share it widely.
(wait, that’s what I’ve been doing for 15 years now )
Excellent write-up, particularly this quote: “I can’t think of any better way to make urban retail work then to stack hundreds of residents on top and around you. That’s really what the downtown Raleigh of the future looks like to me.” Nail, meet hammer.
Definitely feels like a zone with very different reactions:
New Raleighites: “Awesome, that strangely isolated strip mall north of downtown is finally going to be something.”
Old Raleighites: “sad, one of the original zones of independent storefronts in DTR is going away”
I could have missed it but not sure if I’d previously seen a full site plan for seaboard like this.
21,000 sq ft “experimental entertainment”
I hadn’t seen any info on Block F before. 10,000 sf retail (half of which is a brewery with big patio area?!) and 30,000 sf office. So sounds like a 4-story building?
A SEABOARD STATION STRIP CLUB HELL YEAH. Gotta be what it is
Only part without a specified date on it too.
First time I’ve seen an actual rendering of the Hyatt house logo on anything. Says 2024 delivery which would be starting later this year maybe.
*experiential
Characters!
Yup, looks like the plan is to get A and C going up together.
Haha…eyes aren’t working like they used to.
One wonders if block D will remain undeveloped if all these developments go off as planned…
Looks like just a courtyard for the apartment unit maybe open to the public for mini-events like live music.
Wow! We’re getting an Ace Hardware! …oh wait.
The courtyard is on an upper level for the residential units.
